Hannah's 5th Birthday Party!

While we were at Mimi and Pappaw's we celebrated Hannah's 5th birthday! I can't believe she is almost 5! Her birthday is on October 8th, so I'll do a special post about our precious girl then!

This is the cake I made for our sweet princess!

Blowing out the candles!

Eating her strawberry cake--so ladylike with her fork.

And here's her brother....
Her daddy likes to eat his in a bowl with milk poured over it! Soggy cake--yuck!

Hannah was laughing at her brother's way of eating cake.

Love this picture!

LOVE this one too!!!

Uncle Wet and Uncle Jet weren't able to come this weekend.:( Uncle Wet sent Hannah a whole box full of every color possible of play-doh along with the Ice Cream Shoppe set! Thanks Uncle Wet!

2 new dresses from Mommy and Daddy!

2 sided floor puzzle, princess bouncer ball, and money from Mimi and Pappaw!

We got her a whole set of baby stuff--changing pad/purse, stroller, pack-n-play, bouncy seat, and activity mat.

She had to have a new baby to go with it! This was the neatest baby! It makes real baby coos/cries, sucking sounds, and sleeping sounds. It closes its eyes to sleep and its chest goes up and down like it is breathing.

Her Daddy got her this beautiful ring! She lost her baby one in the sandbox! She loves to wear a ring to church.

As soon as the party was over, she immediately went to play with her new stuff!

Happy Birthday Hannah! You are such a joy to our whole family!

Trip to Mimi and Pappaw's House

The kids and I went to Mimi and Pappaw's house on Thursday afternoon. Daddy came Friday night. The kids were super excited to see Pappaw pull in the driveway Thursday evening!!!

They RAN to greet him!

The first thing we did was go look for Doodlebugs!

What are doodlebugs? Well, they are these little bugs that make these little holes in the sand. If you look close in the picture you may be able to see the holes.

To get one to come up, you twirl around a little stick and you have to say this little rhyme:
"Doodlebug, Doodlebug, fly away home.
Your house is on fire and your children will burn."

This was something I did as a kid! Sometimes you can get a doodlebug to come up. Can you see him?
Pappaw showing Hannah how to do it.

Linc giving it a try.

This is a doodlebug. Dad and I decided it was a miniature version of those big worm-like things in the movie Tremors! Ha!

Couldn't believe Hannah held one.

Linc did too. Don't you love his smile?

Sweet!

We had some great weather while we were there. We rode the four wheelers, had a birthday party, and played outside alot. Kris helped my dad with the yard and helped him build shelves in the barn. Here are the kids getting a washdown after playing outside!

Had to throw this one in here. I love how my awesome husband gets along so well with my parents! He is such a help to my dad. They like to do the same things and I love this! He is also super sweet to my grandmother. Just a couple reasons why I really love this guy!

Something I wanted to remember about this trip:
Pappaw loves to take the kids riding on the four wheelers to go look at the cows in the pasture. Apparently he talks to them the whole time telling them things. While I was riding the kids around, Hannah proceeds to start telling me the names of all of Pappaw's cows. She said, "There's "Pink Eye," "Dot," "Pretty girl," "Big Black Momma," "George," "Cut-off Ear"(or something like that), and several others that I can't recall right now. She informed me that he had 9 momma cows and 1 daddy cow. Then, she told me the story about "these 2 ten year old boys who came and moved Pappaw's boat away from the pond!" Lincoln would call them "mean boys" for some reason. I just loved how Hannah really listened to her Pappaw!!!

Hannah's UpDo!

The other day Hannah decided she wanted to fix her hair--not something unusual for her. However, this time she attempted an updo! I got so tickled at her. She worked really hard on this!

2nd Annual Trip to St. Louis

Last weekend we went on our 2nd annual trip to St. Louis with our friends, the Blands! We met them in West Memphis and drove to Sikeston, Missouri to eat at Lamberts again, just like last year. This place is just fun! Here's Jennifer and Benson catching a "throwed roll."

The kids were so happy to see each other again!

Nathan & Sloane

Hannah and Linc riding in an Amish buggy.

Notice he has his boots on. He just lacked his cowboy hat!

Like last year, we stopped near St. Louis at Wal-Mart and Kohls to try to find attire for the Cardinals game. Didn't end up finding anything for my kids so they just used last year's outfits since they still fit. Hannah and Benson just wouldn't let go of each other throughout the store. They laughed and laughed.

We stayed with Kris' brother again. They have a wonderful house and have been so gracious to let us stay there. Saturday we got up and took the kids to the Magic House. It is a children's museum in St. Louis. It was very similar to the one we went to in Memphis not too long ago.

There were all kinds of things for the kids to see and do.

Sweet Sloane. This little girl is amazing! She was just a little angel during the whole trip.

One part of the museum was a mystery. It had all kinds of things about how to solve a mystery. This particular part was about shoe prints. They had all these different shoes and you had to match them up with the right shoe print.

Daddy was helping.

Then, they had a part where you could make your finger print.

Little modern artists!

Outside they had this little house equipped with a kitchen and a little garden in front.

Lincoln and Hannah watering the herb garden. It told all about how plants are planted and how they grow.

Hannah making some stew with all her veggies.

Love how Sloane was playing with her feet!

I saw this sign and had to get a picture. Pretty amazing thought!!!

The water area.

Shopping for groceries.

Checking out.

They had this car where kids could change the tire or fix the muffler. I love how the whole place is so hands on for the kids. They really get to experience things here.

Kris and Lincoln were on their very own tv show!

The Pizzeria

Lincoln was ringing us up.

Jennifer and I couldn't resist. We thought, "This could be them on their first date one day!"

Lincoln loved trying to catch some fish. What a fun place! You can do everything here!

That afternoon we went to a Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. I just love where it is located. It is a neat view of the Arch and the city.

Mr. Mess and me. I have to say, he was pretty good. It is so hard to keep him still for that long. He loved wearing his baseball cap and his daddy bought him a little blue baseball bat. So far he hasn't hit anyone with it.:)

Awesome picture with the Arch in the background!

Thanks again Les and Carol! We enjoyed spending time with you guys!

Sunday we went to church and then headed home! Great, great weekend with our friends! Love you guys! Looking forward to next year!
