New Addition!

I am SUPER excited to finally annouce that Kris and I are expecting baby #3!!!!!!!

I went to the doctor today for the first time. I am 8 weeks today. Our due date is July 6th!

I have always known that I wanted another baby, so the reality that, Lord willing, in July we will have another gift from God is such an amazing thing. So far I am feeling okay. I definitely get a little queasy if I don't eat a little something every couple of hours though. I have been super tired and have really been taking advantage of the kids' nap time to get one for myself.

I had convinced myself that I was having twins. I am definitely already showing which I know is normal. You typically show sooner with each pregancy. However, the ultrasound today proved I am not having twins. This is probably a good thing. :) We will definitely have our hands full as it is.

When Kris told his Mom, this is what he said, "Well, I think our trip (referring to our cruise) is actually going to come out more expensive than we thought. We'll actually be paying for it for the rest of our lives." Now doesn't that sound like a Kris way to say it? Ha!

I knew I was pregnant at 4 weeks, but we didn't tell the kids until about 2 weeks ago. We sat them down and told them that mommy was going to have another baby. Of course, Hannah kind of knew what this meant and she just giggled alot. Funny thing is, she had been praying for the "new little sister that my mommy is going to have" for quite a while now. This has been with no prompting from us. That night after we told her we were going to have another baby, we sat down to eat dinner and this is what she prayed, "Thank you for the new baby that Momma's going to have." It was super sweet. The day that I took the pregnancy test (way before she knew I was pregnant), while I was taking her to school she said, "Mommy, do you think we can name our little sister Francine?" I could not help but laugh out loud!

Oh, Lincoln's reaction. Everytime I tell someone I just can't help but smile. To make it simple for him, I said "Lincoln, there's a baby in Mommy's tummy." I was sitting in a chair at the time I told him and had on a gown. He came over to me, lifted up my gown, and said, "Noooooooo" like "No there's not." I told him it was growing in my tummy. He said, "A blue one?" Hannah has these two little Dora babies. One is pink and one is blue. Well, Lincoln has become quite attached to the blue one. He calls it his blue baby. So, that is what he wants--a blue baby.

We shall see. I think we have decided to find out if it will be a boy or girl. Originally I didn't want to, but we will really have to figure out the living arrangement for this one, so the sooner we know, the better. I guess someone will be disappointed since Hannah wants a girl and Lincoln wants a blue baby. I really don't care which it is. Healthy is all that matters to me!!

I am excited to get to blog about this pregnancy since I didn't start this blog until after Lincoln was born. So, here's my first pregnancy picture at 8 weeks. Hannah took it for me. :)

More of the baby. The head is at the bottom if you can't tell. Right now it is the size of a pinto bean! Amazing!

Lately...

I haven't blogged too much lately. Life just gets busy. Trying to keep people fed (I think I go to Wal-Mart at least once a day. I'm always forgetting something and having to go back. Ugh!), clothes washed, house not covered in dust and toys, babysitting, running errands, keeping two kids from killing each other, etc., I find myself too tired to think of taking pictures and sitting down to write about them.

However, here are a couple of moments I DID take the time to stop and treasure....

The other night after having a bath, the kids laid down together in the playroom to watch a movie. They were soooo cute. One of the greatest joys of a mother is seeing her kids getting along and loving on each other. I wanted to remember this moment.

Lincoln, Lincoln, Lincoln. You make me laugh every day! You LOVE your cowboy boots and your new hat from Mimi and Pappaw. You wake up EVERY SINGLE MORNING, turn your little toy box over and stand on it to turn your light on, find your boots and hat and put them on before coming out of your room. If you have on footed-pajamas, you have to work extra hard. Since the boots won't fit over them, you sit in the floor and unzip them and work your way out of them. Then you come out with nothing but your soaked and saggy diaper and boots on! So funny!

The other day you were playing with your new dinosaurs you got from our neighbor's garage sale. I came into the playroom and found you very meticulously feeding each one. Notice how in the picture each dinosaur has a cup and plate.

What a blessing these two children are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charts

We have got two charts going on in our house right now. First, we have the responsibility chart for Hannah.
It is helping her learn to be responsible for getting dressed by herself, making her bed, brushing her teeth, saying please and thank-you, not hitting, setting the table, and getting ready for bed, etc. Here is her bed all made up by herself!!! (Dad, you would be so proud! Ha!) She did a wonderful job!!

Our second chart is for Mr. Lincoln. It is potty training time in our house--somewhat anyway. Another name for it would be "FRUSTRATING!" I know. I know. He will do it when he's ready. Yes, I know that. We have made several attempts over the last several months to start potty training. Lincoln knows when he is about to go poop. He'll tell me "I poopin, Momma." I'll check and sometimes he's already gone and others I can rush him to the potty and he will go on the potty--with coaxing to stay on there long enough! Sometimes he'll tell me he's poopin and he is really going pee pee. So, I know he is aware of things.

A couple of weeks ago I decided that I would make a chart and explain to him that he would get 1 sticker for going pee pee and 2 stickers for going poop and when he filled up his chart he'd get to go to Chuckie Cheese. I stuck a picture of Chuckie on there for a little daily reminder of his prize.

It is still hard to get him to want to sit on the potty. He will go pee pee most of the time if I can get him on there. The other day I was going to be home all day so I put him in underwear with plastic pants over them to avoid so much mess. Well, first of all, the plastic pants didn't really hold in the urine, so there were multiple cleanings of the floor that day. After having a sippy cup of juice that morning, he went in his underwear about 8 times within a couple of hours. I gave up at noon. So, frustrating! I'd sit him on the potty to go and he wouldn't go. Then, shortly after he'd go in his underwear.

So, now I'm just taking it slow. No more trying to potty train in a day. That is too hard and too exhausting for Lincoln AND for Mommy! He'll get it, when he gets it!

Halloween!

Saturday night we took the kids trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. It was so much fun! Hannah was Aerial--her choice this year. She is at the age where she wants to decide what she will be. Gone are the days I could put her in whatever I wanted to! Thank goodness she chose this sweet costume! Can this girl pose or what?

Hannah loved her red hair.
Since Lincoln is IN LOVE with his boots, I decided he had to be a cowboy this year. He was definitely up for this. He was excited about being a cowboy and really played it up for us! We had the best time getting this little guy to pose for us. First here he is with his horse.

We kept thinking of things to add to Lincoln's costume. So, he had to have a mustache.

Next came a cigar (a brown crayon).

And finally, the best part, the face.

They were old pros at the trick-or-treating this year.

Enjoying going through the loot!

Motley's Pumpkin Patch

Last week we finally made it to the Pumpkin Patch! This year we went to Motley's for the first time. Hannah's school had the trip planned so Linc and I tagged along.

The kids waiting for the pig races to start!
Hannah being a big sister!

They handed out "pumpkin juice" and pretzels before the race.

The pig races! These were SO cute. The guy that did the announcing and told about the pigs was hilarious. The pigs had funny names like Tammy Swinet. Even the adults got a kick out of these races.

Pretty girl.

They had a little petting zoo. I could not believe the kids actually fed the goats.

Best picture I could get in front of the wagon.
They both had a blast playing on the hay. Here's Hannah jumping off a bale.

Hannah refused to have her picture taken with me, so it was just me and Linc.

I love going and doing this kind of thing with the kids. It will be neat to go back years from now and look at all our pumpkin patch pictures!
