Kansas City Fun!

We made a trip to Kansas City recently to visit Grandma and Grandad!  It had been a while since we had seen them, so we were really looking forward to it!  We left on a Thursday afternoon and got there pretty late that night.  Friday morning we hung out and had a yummy breakfast out at the gazebo.  I enjoyed the breakfast casserole, but the kids, I'd say, enjoyed the watermelon!  Layton ate and ate it!

Ha Ha!!!!

I stole a picture of Grandad when he wasn't looking!  :)

And Grandma too!

Sweet picture of Layt!

Keim men.  Kris LOVES to go home so he can work.  On the farm, that is.  Dude loves to work on the farm.  He has got to get him one of those!  Ha!

Lincoln climbing a tree.

Love this one of Grandma reading to the kids.  I think she was reading them a story that taught some virtue.  I can't remember now which one it was.  I'm sure they needed it!  Thanks Grandma!

Playing Dominoes!

Saturday for lunch we went to Kris' 20th High School Reunion.  Yep.  20th!  They had a family cookout at a park and then later that night a nicer sit down adult dinner (which we didn't attend).  There were about 30 or so of his 120 member class at the picnic.  I think he really enjoyed seeing people.  I enjoyed it because I couldn't believe that so many of them didn't recognize him.  It was also funny because he came over to me after talking to a guy for like 10 minutes and said "I just talked to this guy for forever and I have no idea who he was!"  Made me laugh so hard!  Anyway, here he is his senior year.  What a cutie!

I don't know if the wrestling picture was from his senior year or not, but it was with the others so I added it too!

That night we had tickets to go see Peter Pan at the Starlight Theatre in Kansas City.  Before meeting Kurt, Alexis, and Isabel for some Mexican food, we stopped in at Union Station and just walked through the lobby.  Check out this Titanic out of Legos!

Across the street from Union Station was the Liberty Memorial, a World War I Memorial.  It would probably be neat to see sometime.

Before the show at the Starlight Theatre, they had all kinds of kids activities relating to Peter Pan.  They got to get some treasure out of a treasure chest, put on tattoos, and make pirate hats among other things.

This fairy gave them some magic pixie dust and told them to close their eyes to make a wish!

Then, they blew the dust away!

Then we all posed for pictures on Captain Hook's Plank.

Love this one!!!

Peter Pan was a musical outside in an open theater.  It was really neat and the lady, Cathy Rigby, who played Peter was in her 50's or 60's.  She has performed Peter Pan on Broadway and was outstanding.  I really enjoyed it and enjoyed getting to be with Kris' family!  I was disappointed that I couldn't take any pictures though!

Isabel came back to Grandma and Grandad's that night to spend the night and then Kurt and Alexis came to church with us Sunday morning and then came back to the Keim's for lunch.  We really had a great time!
