Since I have been in a blogging slump lately, this is another one of those catch-up posts. Sorry. Maybe one day I will get back in the swing of things. Right now, I am just making it one day at a time and catching up when I can.
March is long gone, but here are some highlights. One night the boys wanted to make a tent in their room, so this is how they slept.
This was late one afternoon. I found these two like this. Hannah must have been super tired to have fallen asleep at her desk.
Dr. Seuss day at school. Hannah was Cindy Lou Who. That coat that Grandma made her years ago has come in so handy!!
Lincoln and his buddy Jack were Thing 1 and Thing 2. We had a lot of fun with Jack's mom, Jill, and Jack putting this together. These boys are crazy!! Jill and I laugh all the time because they both are so silly like their dads!!
Love them!!
Mom and Layton one weekend in Texarkana.
Layton and Dad after a day full of play.
Just like his sister, Lincoln placed in his school Art Contest and his artwork went on to compete in the Saline County Art Contest. We were so proud of him. I couldn't wait to see his art.
How cute is that?
One of Kris' aunts passed away and so Kris went to Springfield one weekend to an auction to sell some of her things. He came back with these babies. Layton was in tractor heaven.
Leanne, Carrie, Julie and I went and had make-overs one Saturday. I had really been looking forward to this because I just needed a change and was really wanting to get some advice on how to one, do my make-up and two, take care of my skin a bit more. We went to Pout and the ladies that did our make-up were super sweet. We had a great time and had yummy Chipotle for lunch afterwards.
Beautiful Carrie!!
Beautiful Julie!!
I don't know why I didn't get a picture of Leanne. She and I were getting ours done at the same time so I guess that is why. She was beautiful too!!
I really loved the eye make-up, the foundation, and the lips on me, so that is what I ended up buying. The lips were a little bright but it was because she used a bright liner. I didn't buy it so the lips are a little less bright and I really like the lipstick.
Such a fun time!!!
Our church had another Outside the Walls Sunday morning. Our life group made treat/goody bags for the staff at the VA Hospital.
They were all very appreciative and the kids enjoyed it. I hope that this helps to teach them the importance of saying thank you and serving people who do goods works.
Afterwards we ate at Cheddars. Here are some of our crazy kids. At this point we only had 3 families in our life group. The Stephens had a death in the family so they didn't get to go deliver with us, but we have really loved our time with the Cheesmans and Stephens. Recently we have had two other families join our group and it has been wonderful!! We meet on Sunday nights at our house from 4:00 to 5:30. Many times we will either bring food and eat at our house or go out to eat. We sing and Colin does a fantastic job of teaching a lesson to the kids. They participate and then they get to go play. The older ones stay for a little more teaching/talking and then they go play. Then, the adults have our lesson. We have started in Genesis and talked alot about creation and are now getting into other stories. It has been such a blessing to us!!
Layton and Conner.
They were blowing the paper across the table to each other with their straws. :-)
I have been trying to get Hannah in the kitchen more with me lately. This day she was helping peel carrots. She loves to be given responsibilities so we are trying to do more of that!!
Here is Mike helping Layton bowl one Sunday night at a Life Group fun night.
On one trip to Texarkana, I took Hannah shopping for summer clothes. She is definitely at the age where she needs to pick out her own clothes, so this was really our first time to do this. I loved it. I remember doing this with my mom in that very mall when I was little. Very special.
Hannah helping Mimi in the kitchen.
Finally, we ended the month of March with a trip to Dallas just Kris and I. This trip was much needed, so it was just wonderful. We shopped--something we actually enjoy doing together. We went to two movies, one where we got to actually eat dinner while watching the movie. That was a cool place. We went to the Lego store and got each of the kids some new Legos. This was a cool Lego statue we saw.
We went to the Americal Girl store for the first time. Oh Hannah would love this place.
And we went to Ikea for the first time. It was really cool!! Surprisingly we were only there for a couple of hours and left only spending about $50. We did good. :-)
A highlight for me was that I got to see my brother Wes. We went to a movie with him, ate at a really yummy place called the Taco Diner, and then went to church with him on Sunday morning. I am very proud of this guy. Not only is he quite handsome, he is just a good, good person.
That wraps up March. Guess I'll do April next since it IS May already.
