During part of Spring Break we went to Missouri for a visit. Kris could hardly wait to get there and get his hands dirty.
The weather was pretty good so the kids got to be outside some. I went to Ladies Class on Thursday morning with Roena and Kris and Grandad took the kids fishing. Wish I had some pictures from that.
Here is Lincoln climbing a tree.
The kids are going to be in a wedding this summer. Their cousin, Lindsey, is getting married. We are very excited for her!! Hannah got to try on her flower girl dress. She loved it!
On Saturday we went into Kansas City and met up with Kurt, Alexis, Isabelle, and Addison at Union Station.
These girls are always so happy to see each other.
We walked around the Crown Center for a bit. It has lots of neat shops and things to do.
They had a Fairy Tale Village exhibit going on and the kids loved walking around in it and checking it out.
We stopped in a candy store and watched this guy flipping caramel. Very interesting.
We went to the Hallmark Visitors Center and got to see all kinds of exhibits. Hallmark Cards is based in Kansas City. Then, we went to Kaleidoscope. It is a place where kids (and grown-ups) can be creative and use their imaginations to create art with left-over material from Hallmark's manufacturing processes. It was pretty cool and the kids seemed to enjoy it.
Next, we went to the Airline History Museum. It was located in Kansas City's old airport. It was quite interesting I thought. I am really into World War II and that era right now and got to see some airline history from back in those days.
The kids were really great listeners. I was so proud of them!
It was a fun day spent with family. Poor Addison was worn out.
The view of downtown Kansas City from the old airport.
Someone else was worn out too. We stopped at Lowe's on our way back to Grandma and Grandad's and someone couldn't keep his eyes open.
The chickens were a big hit with Layton this trip.
He was all excited to get to go collect eggs with Uncle Les. I think they have 29 chickens and they will collect 27 eggs fairly often. They give away a lot of eggs. We went home with 54!
