Week 5

Layton loves early morning snuggles with Ledger.

He told me he wanted to read him a story.  Next year buddy, you will be able to!

Lincoln had been begging me to let him change Ledger's diaper.  I definitely have plenty of helpers in this house!

Friday and Saturday we attended PV's VBS.  It's theme was Joseph.  Our Life Group manned the photo booth.

Katelynn, Abigail, and Hannah.

Our little (some would say big) family.

Our VBS was a little different this year.  They had a play on Friday night and then on Saturday we went around all the centers as a group of several families.  Hannah got asked to help lead the kids in learning the hand motions to the theme song.

Brick making center with Mr. Todd was really cool.  The kids were fascinated.

Goofiest looking llama I have ever seen.

Saturday afternoon Layton had his baseball team end of the year party.  It was at his coach's lake.  The kids had an absolute blast!!

It was hot.  Ledger was sweating.

Layton was so proud of his very first trophy!

Raising that head to look at his daddy.

Selfie girl.

Ledger FINALLY got to have his first real bath.  It took a month for his umbilical cord to fall off.  I thought it never would!!!  He loved his bath!

His belly kills me!

All nice and clean and smelling sweet.

This outfit was Lincoln's.  It was one of the few things of the boys that I kept.  Lincoln and Layton thought he looked like a girl with the hat on.  Ha!  So, we didn't make him wear it to church.

We went to a going away party for the Grace's on Sunday afternoon.  We will miss this sweet family.

More morning snuggles.  The boys really like to do this.

This girl is SO great with him.  She is such a big help.  She will put him to sleep for me so easily.

I needed groceries really bad and had to take all the kids with me.  I definitely bribed them with candy at the end to behave.

Ledger will occasionally nap in his crib, but most of the time he fusses when I put him in it.

Sleeping while the big kids swim.

We got free tickets to a Travs game this week so we took advantage of that and the fact that it was $1 hotdog night.  We didn't stay for the whole game, but it was good to just do something fun as a family.

Sleeping on Daddy's chest later that night.

I think this is one of my favorite pictures.  I love the football onesie!!!  His belly actually looks like a football.  And his face is oh so sweet.

Ledger at 1 month

I can't believe that Ledger is 1 month old.  He is just a wonderful baby.  He is nursing really well.  He only spits up if he gets a little too much milk.  I make a lot of milk, so I have had my normal trouble.  I get plugged ducts fairly easily.  I will run fever and just not feel well.  Fortunately, I have been able to work it out and it hasn't gotten too bad.  He is eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours--during the day and at night goes 3 or 4.  At night, he just eats and gets a diaper change and goes right back down to sleep.  So thankful he is so good!!!  He will sleep for 3 or 4 hours straight.  I am swaddling him at night and he is sleeping in the travel bassinet on the floor beside our bed.

He is wearing mostly 0-3 months clothes.  The newborn stuff is, for the most part, too tight and too short.

He is having a hard time pooping.  He just grunts and strains and has lots of gas.  I have wondered if his little hole is too small and that is why he is having such a hard time.  Layton's was and he had to have his stretched at 2 months old.  But the doctor says this grunting is fairly normal, though, so we are just trying to get through it.

We have done a little bit of tummy time and Ledger doesn't seem to mind it.  He kicks and kicks his legs.

He loved his first bath and is always so happy when getting his diaper changed.

This little guy rarely cries.  He seems to like to sleep in the pack-n-play in the living room for naps instead of in his crib.  I think the noise puts him to sleep.  This is a good thing because there is definitely lots of noise in this house with the other two boys!

Ledger is holding his head up briefly.

He seems to want to put his hand/finger in his mouth.  He likes his pacy, but definitely not as much as his siblings did.  Hoping we don't have a thumb sucker on our hands!

He has been to all kinds of places this month and does great at them all.  He has been to Layton's Preschool Program, out to eat at Chili's with me and my coworkers, Lincoln and Hannah's awards ceremonies at school, swim team practice, Hannah's graduation, VBS, Bunko, church, a swimming party, etc.  He just goes with the flow.

He is giving us some sweet, sweet smiles and is just a very happy content baby.  We love him SO much!!!!

1 months stats:

22.5 inches tall (84.35%)
10 lbs 12.2 oz (77.79%)
Head = 14.5 in. (23.23%)
BMI = 14.9 (7.70%)

Week 4

This week we spent lots of time at home just loving on Ledger.

Little bit of tummy time.  He doesn't seem to mind it too much.  He kicks and kicks his legs.

Kris and the boys worked on a little project over the weekend.  They made a go-cart without a motor.

Our Life Group met after being apart for a while.  It was good to get back together.  We played Bible Jeopardy based on some of the things we have been studying with the kids.  We played adults vs kids.  I think we are going to make this a regular thing and just keep the score going.  It was a lot of fun!

Lincoln had gotten in trouble and was upset.  I looked up during the prayer and saw Braden and Connor comforting him.  Sweetest thing.

Brothers.

He doesn't cry like this much, but he was not liking being put in the rocking chair.

Daddy loves to try to get him to smile.

I love this little onesie that Tremaine got him.

We ventured out to the pool this week.  Ledger and I just hang out in the shade.  It is working pretty well since Layton is doing well on his swimming.  I sure miss the water though!  Next year will be so much fun with this little guy.  This year, he is content to just sleep through it.

We had Abigail come over one day.  We swam and went and got frozen lemonades at Sonic afterwards.

I love his faces!

I was determined that we were going to get to pick our berries like we do every summer.  We went as early as possible to beat some of the heat and got lots of blueberries and blackberries.  Yum!

They have these beautiful flowers for sale at the berry farm.
