Sprinkler Fun!

We had a little sprinkler fun one afternoon after school last week.  The kids were very excited.  I was interested to see what Layton would do.  He was a bit timid at first.

It didn't take long, though, and he was having as much of a blast as the big kids.

Never get tired of seeing smiles on the kids faces!!!

We were having so much fun, the neighbor kids had to come join in!

Guess he got thirsty.

At the end, the big boys across the street got out their water hose and were spraying all the kids.  They loved it!

We are looking forward to much more water fun this summer!!!!

I saw this idea somewhere and thought it was cute--Sundaes on Mondays.  We may have to make it a weekly thing.

Happy Mother's Day!!

This has been a great Mother's Day weekend for me.  Not only did I get to see my sweet Momma from Thursday to Saturday, but my kiddos and Kris were super good to me.  Lincoln came home from school with a potted flower for me on Thursday.  I forgot to take a picture.  Then, on Friday Hannah came home with a sweet note and a really neat cookbook of recipes from her entire class.  She even went straight to her room when she got home and wrapped it up in scrapbook paper for me.  I loved it!

Then, this morning I got a wonderful manicure and pedicure gift card as well as some delicious chocolates from Kris.  Thank you so much!  The kids both got me cards.  Hannah actually wrote me one herself and I have to say it was about the sweetest thing I have ever read.  I wanted to take a picture of it so I would always be sure to have it.  It was most special because it was all from her sweet little heart.
I am one truly blessed Mother and I am so thankful to God for giving me a wonderful husband who is so supportive and three absolutely beautiful, precious children.  Staying home with them has been a dream come true for me and even during the really hard days, I know this is where I was meant to be.  I know that these days will be over before I want them to be.  Therefore, I need to really enjoy them and take in every moment I have while they are with me.  That along with trying my best to teach them to be the kind of people God wants them to be are my goals.  I pray all the time that God will help me!!!

To my Mom and Kris' Mom, thank you for being who you are and for being such amazing examples of Christ to your children.  I know I can speak for Kris in saying that we both are so proud of our mothers and thank God every day for the blessing that you both are to our lives!  Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Teacher Appreciation 2012

Last week was Teacher Appreciation week at Hannah's school.  Hannah has had a super 1st Grade year.  I can't believe it is nearly over. She liked her teacher this year and did really well with her.  So, we wanted to show our appreciation.

The thing I like about her school is that they give parents ideas for what to do each day.  We decided to do Lincoln's teacher as well on his three days of school.

Monday they suggested sending the teacher a flower.  So we did.

Tuesday was a school supply.  I decorated these clipboards with scrapbook paper and a little Mod Podge.  Hannah loved them so much, she wants me to make her one.  I thought they turned out really cute.

This was the back.

Wednesday was a fruit or a snack.  I made Oreo balls and put them in this cute little Love Chocolate box.  Lincoln took some to his teacher on Thursday.

Thursday they suggested a handwritten note.  So, I found this idea for a 2 x 4 note pad/pencil holder.  We already had the 2 x 4's and I just used some of the same scrapbook paper as before.  All I had to buy was the letter stickers and note pad.

My crafty husband helped by sanding down the edges with his big sander.  This gave it a worn look.
Hannah wrote her note on the note pad. :-)
Finally, Friday was gift card day.  Her teacher loves Sonic so that's what we got her.  I wrote her a little note of thanks and attached it to this little C picture holder I found at Gordmans.
I love doing this kind of stuff so it was lots of fun for me.  I hope their teachers know how much we appreciate all they have done for our kiddos!

Field Day with Hannah

Last Friday was Field Day at Hannah's school, so the boys and I went to hang out with her.  We had to wait a few minutes after dropping her off for her class to come outside.  I took a few pictures of the boys.

Lincoln had so much fun playing on all the playgrounds.

Layton was so cute.  He would run and hug Hannah, run back to me, and then do it all over again multiple times.  She ate it up, of course, and all her friends thought he was so cute.

They played several different games like the bean bag toss.  They were competing against another class.

More hugs!!!

Sack races!!

I so remember those days of doing this with my friends.  It was fun to watch Hannah with hers.

Buddies!

At the end they had snow cones to cool off.  This is Hannah with her best friend, Jaiden.

Around lunch time we went home to eat and nap.  At 2:30 we came back for the highlight of the day.  They had a fire truck come and spray all the kids with their water hoses.  They had SO much fun!!!!!

At one point they had 3 hoses going!

They both had the best time!!!
