6th Week of Summer - July 12th-July 18th

This week we didn't have any really big things going on.  We did the normal swimming alot.

Mr. Layton discovered he can dive.  This little guy is fearless in the water.  He wants to do everything the big kids do.  I haven't given in to letting him try flips yet.  He really wants to try a front flip like Lincoln.  I am just too scared of him hitting the board.

He gets a lot of attention at the pool because people can't believe how little he is and he's diving.  I know alot of them think he is younger than 5 because he is such a tiny little thing.  I thoroughly enjoy watching my kids swim.  It is always a highlight of our summer.

Here are several videos of the kids.

One day Hannah and Virginia made a cake all by themselves.  They were so proud.

Not exactly sure what happened.  It kind of fell a little and Hannah couldn't wait long enough for the cake to cool to ice it.  So, the icing looks more like a glaze.  Ha!

Lincoln is back to loving his Legos.  His room often looks like this when he is "in the zone."  I don't mind it so much, but he doesn't like it when we tell him he has to clean it up.

On Saturday we went to the Central Arkansas Swimming League Meet of Champs for the first time.  Lincoln made it in the freestyle.  They warmed up for what seemed like forever before getting started.

He got put in a 9-10 year old relay at the last minute.  So, he swam that after practicing for a while.  Then, his freestyle was right afterwards.  I know he was tired.  For some reason he wanted to wear his new swim hat that he got for qualifying.  You don't have to wear a hat and he never has at any of the meets.  I think it caused some issues with his goggles when he dove in because he said something about his goggles messing up.  He had a horrible start in his race, but he actually caught up some towards the end.  He had bettered his time all year until this meet.  Bummer.  But we were SO proud of him.  He just had a fabulous year!

Hannah and I went shopping after the meet to find her something to wear to Lindsey's rehearsal dinner.  She also needed another dress for church.  This was the one she picked.  :-)
