March Memories

This particular Sunday night at Life Group the Fruit of the Spirit was Kindness.  Jason used a tube of toothpaste to show that once words come out of your mouth you can not stop what has been heard and it can have hurtful effects on those around you.  In other words, what comes out can't go back in-just like once the toothpaste is squirted out, it can't go back in-no matter how hard you try.

They tried hard to get it back in.

Caleb was just glopping it onto Hannah.

I registered Layton for Kindergarten this month.  My baby is not a baby anymore.  Brings tears to my eyes just thinking about him going to school next year and not being with me.  Oh how I will miss him.

I hosted Bunko this month at my house and made this yummy salted caramel toffee cheesecake.  I would probably say cheesecake has been a craving of mine this pregnancy.  It was so good!!!

Layton had to decorate an egg for school for Easter week.  I love how he sticks out his tongue when he writes or colors.  So cute!

Love this that Lincoln wrote about his dad.

A drawing by Lincoln on the wall at school.

We spent the first part of our Spring Break in Texarkana.  The kids loved driving Pappaw's new side by side.  THEY LOVED IT!!!

I took Lincoln shopping one day and then treated him to one of his favorite snacks--McDonald's apple pies.

I found this selfie that Hannah took on my phone.

Hannah made the baby a blanket while we were at Mimi's.  She picked out the fabric and sewed it all by herself.

It turned out AWESOME!!!

One weekend we met Les and Carol over at Logan's house and helped Logan start a little garden in his yard.

Tennis started back up for Lincoln and he has enjoyed some fun practices/games.  On this night they were hitting water balloons after practice.

Here was a night of tennis matches.

Lincoln has had a great teacher this year in Mrs. Hill.  She has been so encouraging and so patient with him.  She sent me this picture one day of something that she tried with several kids in her class who struggle with keeping their attention on their work.  It is a big rubber band type thing that he can bounce his feet on while he works.  I appreciate his teacher so much for trying to help him out!!!

March was jammed packed with all kinds of memories.  We got new carpet throughout all the bedrooms, went away for a weekend just Kris and I, started baseball and tennis, registered for Kindergarten, hosted Bunko, planned a preschool program, met with our Life Group, bought a new car, went to Mimi and Pappaw's, had the flu, and went through weeks 29-32 of this pregnancy.  Now on to April!!!

Out with the old, In with the new

In the middle of March, we said good-bye to our first mini van after almost 12 years.  We bought this van in August 2004 which was about 2 months before Hannah was due.  We have put lots of miles on it, brought home 3 babies from the hospital in it, and made lots of memories in it.  The Sunday before we knew we were going to go buy the new one, Kris made a comment that it was the last time we would drive home from church in this van.  Well, the next thing I know, I am crying my eyes out.  Hormones I suppose, but it just hit me in that moment how much we have done in that van.  I got a little sad.

BUT, I do love our new van.  It is a 2016 Honda Odyssey.  We got the DVD player this time and leather seats so that was exciting since we didn't have them before.  The crazy thing is that we got it about 2 months before our 4th baby is due.  NEVER thought I would say that.

So, I am looking forward to all the new memories we will make in this van with our family of SIX!!!

Easter 2016

Easter this year was supposed to have been celebrated at the Keims in Kansas City.  However, I came down with the flu a few days before we were to leave.  We didn't want to spread our germs so we had to stay home.  We were all disappointed.  I started to feel better on Saturday though so we tried to make the best of our time at home.

We saw the Easter bunny at Wal-Mart.

Here are their Easter baskets on Sunday morning.

The kids begged to color eggs since they love hard boiled eggs so much, so we did that on Sunday afternoon.

They had the sillies.

Of course, we had to take pictures on Sunday morning all ready for church.
