First Day of School 2015-2016

The first day of school morning we woke up and had cinnamon rolls for breakfast!  All smiles!

I made some extras to give to their teachers.

I can't believe Hannah is in 5th grade this year!!  Just one more year of elementary school for her.  Unreal.  Lincoln is in 3rd grade and Layton is just in this picture because he could not be left out.  His first day of school wasn't for a couple of weeks.  ;)

Just look at these babies on their first days of kindergarten!!!  They have grown SO much!!

I didn't go with Hannah to her class, but walked Lincoln to his.  This is him with some other boys in his class.

Ready to learn!

While Hannah and Lincoln were learning away at school, this little guy had had all he could take I guess.  He took an afternoon nap.

Lincoln came home with this.  I share it because I love what he wants to be when he grows up--a boxer.  Haha!!  He has been on a boxing kick lately.  He loves to punch on his punching bag in his room and has even been watching the Rocky movies lately.  He says he wants to be Rocky for Halloween.  I hope to make that happen!

I think this is going to be a big year for both kids.  Third grade is a tough grade and Hannah switches between all 4 of the 5th grade teachers this year.  This is the first time to really switch classes for her. I am praying for both of them to have the best years yet!!!

Last Bits of Summer

August 17th came so quickly.  I'll do a first day of school post all by itself.  These are just the last of the summer pictures.

Kris and Layton were playing with the selfie stick.  That thing can be fun!

Hannah and I did a little baking.  We made chocolate souffles.  It was the first time I had ever made them and they were yummy.  However, they fell soon after coming out of the oven.  I think that is not uncommon.  They still tasted good though.

She learned how to make stiff peaks!

We wrapped up our Beatitudes study with a really fun game night during Life Group.  Collin and Amy are so great at coming up with stuff for our kids and the game was awesome!  We divided the kids into 2 teams and then they had to go up and answer questions or put the Beatitudes in the correct order, etc.  I was so proud of all of the kids for learning those verses!  The adults learned them too and Joe and I ended up going head to head at the end.  :-)

And lastly here are the kids playing a little Just Dance which they love.

Next up, first day of school pictures!

10th Week of Summer - August 9th-August 15th

Kris got me a selfie stick!  Ha!  He was trying it out Sunday before church.

That afternoon after church we headed to Southern Christian Homes with our Life Group to help serve them lunch with the PV Grill Team.  It was HOT outside!!!!  The kids had been playing gaga ball and were drenched with sweat.

The group!

After lunch we challenged the kids to a game of kick ball.  The kids there were so polite and so appreciative to us for being there.  We had a lot of fun and hope to go back again soon!

Worn out!

We spent a few more days at the pool before school started!

Wednesday night the Faith-In-Action class at church went to Boone Park Elementary to help get their backpacks packed with school supplies.  This is something that is so easy for the kids to help with and a great way to serve.  So thankful for our church and how they support Boone Park!

Rhea Lana.  I have a love/hate relationship with it.  I HATE getting ready for it.  It is work.  I got rid of alot of the kids stuff so that is one of the reasons that I LOVE it.  The money is the other.  I usually do pretty well and it is a huge help especially around the start of school when you are buying shoes and things.

The kids have been asking me for awhile now when I was going to make some cinnamon rolls.  So, I decided to make them for their teachers as well.  They were a big hit with the teachers and we all love them too!
