All the Rest of August

Ledger loves to open the snack cabinet, any time he catches it not latched, he pulls out "nacks".

Oh my goodness.  One of my favorite moments.  I found Lincoln reading to Ledger.  I videoed it because it was about the cutest thing I've ever seen.  Lincoln was reading in Lincoln fashion--100 mph.  It is so funny!

Ledger grabbed sissy's phone and thought he'd play.  I love his little tongue.

This room.  It gives me nightmares.

Playing ball after church one night in the gym.

Hannah's class hosted a little Tween class graduation party in the Tween Room at church for the graduating 7th graders.  Our teen program changed from 7th-12th grades to 8th-12th.  This was the first year for that, so they had a little graduation party for those 7th soon-to-be 8th graders.

Fun with brothers!!!

My guess is he was saying "Ba" here.  That is what he calls all drinks.  So funny!

We didn't quite make all of our list, but we did do most of it.  The Digging for Diamonds is such a hard one to make happen, but maybe we can do it next year!  The kids really want to go!

I LOVE my kids' imaginations.  When they actually get outside (usually having to be forced), they can come up with some fun stuff especially with the neighbor kids.  They built this fort with some pallets we had up next to our house.  This is Ross and Madden holding it down at the moment.

I got this from Layton's teacher.  Big First Grader!

Sweet baby.  Sunday mornings just wear him out.

We had a super cool thing happen on August 21st.  It was a partial solar eclipse.  Little Rock only had about 89% coverage, but it was still SO cool!!!  I was determined I was going to see it.  The kids were getting to see it at school, but I didn't get any glasses.  I ended up driving to Little Rock because one of Kris' coworkers had some and she let us use them.  It was really neat.  I will definitely be more prepared on April 8, 2024 because Little Rock will get to experience a total solar eclipse then!

Shadows on the side walk at home.

This boy always has a book in hand.

He wanted to sit on the Target ball.  I love love love how red his hair is in the sunlight.

We had our Heartfelt Reveal Day brunch this month.  I am excited about my new group.  The Moms  decorated this beautiful table!

We played this cute little game where you pick out one M&M from a bowl and based on what color you got, you had to tell something.

My new group!

My besties.

Layton FINALLY lost one of his two front teeth!

 Happy boy!!

Spirit week at school.  Layton dressed up.  Cowboy day.

50's day.

I guess now that August is over, we get to look forward to Fall!!

1st Day of School 2017-2018

I can't believe it is time for the kids to start school again.  Our summer just flew by.  The kids had Open House at school a couple of nights before school actually started.  They got to meet their teachers.

Layton is in 1st Grade this year and has Mrs. Bredlow.  Her room was so fun and decorated so cute.  She seemed super sweet.  I have a good feeling about this year and am excited for Layton!

Lincoln is in 5th grade.  He will have 2 teachers this year.  His homeroom teacher is Mrs. Beard.  She will teach him Math, Science, and Social Studies.  I have heard good things about her.  He will have Mrs. Menard for Reading, Writing, and English.  Hannah had her so we know Mrs. Menard, and she is a great teacher as well.  Lincoln actually tested into the G/T program this year!!  So, he will get pulled out of his regular classes about 75 minutes a week to get to do special things with the gifted/talented students.  I am super excited about this for him!!

First Day of School 2017-2018

Big First Grader with little brother.  Ledger wanted to be in the picture.

Last year in Elementary School!

7th grade for Hannah!

Our 4 HUGE blessings!!!

Layton ready to start his first day.  The others are too big for me to walk them in now, so I definitely took advantage of Layton being willing to let me!

Praying for you guys as you start another year of school!  Praying that you each are a good friend, that you make good friends, that you study hard and learn a lot, and that you treat people the way you would want to be treated.  Kris has a thing that he does with the kids before they or he leaves each morning.  He hugs each one and asks "Who are you?" in which they say their name.  Then, he asks them "Whose are you?" and they say "God's."  I love this little reminder to them as they start each day!
