Hannah at 5

Here is some of what I want to remember about Hannah at 5:

Hannah is using such big words these days like disgusting, interesting, weird, unusual, unique, and extraordinary. Some of these she has gotten from reading Fancy Nancy books. I think it is so funny when she looks at me or Linc and says, "Seriously?"

She LOVES to write. She still uses both hands. She loves to write her letters and numbers especially. She writes her name backwards alot--partially because she uses her left hand and starts on the right side of the paper. She'll write, K hANNAH. I am a little concerned about it, but feel like it will get worked out soon. She has started drawing pictures more. The other day she drew our fireplace for Kris. She draws people, flowers, hearts, suns, etc.

Hannah loves to do crafty things like work with scissors, glue, stickers, tape, etc. She has alot of fun making things for her friends, Emma and Kenzie, and putting them in a decorated envelope and giving it to them at church. :)

Naps are not an every day occurence anymore. :( I have given up forcing her to for the most part. If she is extra cranky, I will make her take one. Otherwise, she just plays in her room looking at books, writing, or playing dressup, dollhouse, or babies. Sometimes she will fall asleep on her own after reading.

Preschool is going great this year. She makes friends with both boys and girls. She talks alot about Colin and Alyssa. She has learned many new songs and her favorite center is still homeliving.

Hannah has really become VERY shy around adults that she does not know well. She will not answer them when they ask her something or say something to her. Alot of times she will turn her head. We are working on this with little progress thus far!!!

Much like her momma, she is very bossy especially with her brother. Sometimes he goes along with this and other times--not so much!

Fits are still something we deal with fairly regularly. Will she ever grow out of this????

Fixing her hair is still one of Hannah's favorite things to do. She loves to fix her hair in all kinds of ways. Dress up and playing with baby dolls are still big parts of her life. She has started playing with barbies more too.

Something we have noticed about Hannah is that her eye color has changed. She always had the most beautiful blue eyes. Now they are a beautiful green color.

Loves to have her nails and toenails polished.

Still a pretty picky eater. She goes in spurts. She will eat really well for a while and then won't for a while.

Hannah is wearing size 4T clothes and wears a size 9 shoe. She weighs almost 35 lbs and is 38 1/2 inches tall--pretty much a head shorter than most of her class!

Hannah is getting more opinionated with the way she wants her hair to look and what she wears.

Her memory amazes me. She remembers lines from movies she watches and shows. While she was at Grandma's last week, Grandma taught her lots of Bible stories and things about the Bible, like the names of some of the different rivers and how to remember them. I couldn't believe how much she absorbed! Also, since Hannah was really little she has always been able to look at signs of restaurants and things and tell us what they were. The other night we were going to Sakura and we didn't even tell her where we were going. She asked us if we were going to the place that had the purple flower. We couldn't believe that she remembered that that was the sign for Sakura. She has a great little memory.

Hannah has been such a blessing to our lives these 5 years. She is just precious and we love her sooooo much!

What a sweet girl! I loved reading about her and what she's up to these days!

Don't worry about the writing backwards -- Madeleine did that too! A week in kindergarden fixed it. I asked her teacher about it and she said it's because they simply don't know any better & one of the first things they learn is directionality of words on a page. :) Hope that puts your mind at ease -- I worried about that a LOT!

Hope to see you guys this weekend at church! :)
