January Randomness

Hannah made the A honor roll this last 9 weeks.  I was proud of her!  She works hard at school and does a great job!

I got a kick out of Lincoln's New Year's Resolution that was up on the wall outside his classroom.

Layton got some new shoes one day and insisted on wearing them to bed that night.  So he did.  He was so proud.  They light up and he wanted to see them in the dark I think.

Just a cute pic of Layton and Harper one day while I was watching her for Leanne.  So cute!

Hat day at school!  They picked them out themselves.

We met the Cheesman's one afternoon after school at the park.  Yay for park time!  This is Conner and Layton.

Layton and I grabbed lunch at Sam's one day.  He wanted me to take his picture.

Lincoln's class celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing like an old person.  This was how Linc went.  Hilarious!  His teacher had their class picture put in the local paper!

Upward

Hannah and Lincoln are doing Upward Basketball and Cheerleading again this year.  Hannah will say she doesn't like it, but I know she really does.  She is good at it too!  Last week she got to kind of be the captain for half the game.  Her coaches did something new where they were sitting on the sidelines and would hold up a sign of what cheer to do.  She would yell the name of the cheer and say "5, 6, 7, 8" and then start the cheer for everyone.  I could tell she ate that up!  She loves to be in charge! Ha!  Here are some random pictures from the last few weeks.

Here are a couple of videos too!

Lincoln has enjoyed playing basketball.  He is all over the place!  He is definitely a hustler and loves to get the ball so he tries really hard to get it.

He is on the ground alot!  Ha!

His defense cracks us up!!  We laugh so hard at him.  He gets on his man and he stares him down.  Sometimes he will have them completely cornered!!  It is hysterical.  We have tried to remind him that he has to know where the ball is too!  He typically makes a couple of shots a game.

I love Upward because it is not focused on the competition.  They don't obsess over practices and they reward the kids after each game and tell them what they did right.  They are encouraging as well.  Good stuff and exactly what I think my kids need at this age especially!

Lincoln is SEVEN!

I can't believe Lincoln is seven!!  We celebrated with Mimi and Pappaw the weekend before his birthday.  Since we are not big cake people, I made an ice cream sandwich dessert as his "cake" this year.

Singing "Happy Birthday"!

Ready to blow out the candles!

Opening his Lego Bible.  He really loves it and it is the neatest thing!  A friend told me about it and I knew it would be perfect for him for his birthday!

Checking it out!

All boys need something to shoot.

He had been wanting a Razor scooter for a long time.  Now he won't have to ride Hannah's.

Much needed clothes!

He also got a "real" bible.

Some things about Lincoln at 7:

**He still loves Legos and builds the neatest things out of them.  He has such a creative mind.
**He is quite a good little artist.  I have been really surprised at some of his drawings.  He may have gotten some artistic talent from his Pappaw??
**He is still full of energy.
**He likes basketball and baseball.  I think he is going to forego baseball this time and try the swim team.  He loves to swim too and is really good at it!
**He is wishy washy about liking school.
**He is great at math, but spelling is more of a struggle for him.  He is not a fan of reading either. :(
**He loves to watch tv and loves video games.  His favorite games are Mario and Minecraft.
**He is wearing a size 7 pants but I don't think they will last much longer.  He is getting tall.
**He is definitely a sweets lover and candy lover.
**He does not like having a fire in the fire place (which Kris loves).  He is a little afraid of fire.
**He is good at memorizing things.  Doesn't take him long to memorize scripture.
**When he sings, he sings loud and I love to hear him.  At Life Group sometimes, he sings out and Kris and I just look at each other and smile.  He also likes to sing church songs at bedtime and belts them out.  LOVE!
**He does NOT like to have his hair cut.
**It usually doesn't take him long to fall asleep at night.  He goes so hard all day.

Lincoln, your big brown eyes just get me.  I see much success in your future!  I pray that you will use all that energy for something really great one day!  I love you so much.  You are a blessing from God and a special part of our family!!!

I wanted to include this picture of Jeff.  We also celebrated Uncle Jeff's birthday that weekend.  His is on the 14th.  We love Uncle Jeff and wish him his best year yet!!
