Saturday night after all the flag football, cross country, and the Tween Rally, we had dinner at our house. Hannah wanted a strawberry cake, so she made one! Ha! I guess I got off easy this year and didn't have to go all out in the cake department. Her favorite cake is just a boxed strawberry cake with vanilla frosting. Nothing flash. That is easy and easy is good!
The next morning was her actual birthday, so we took her to her choice of Dunkin' Donuts before church. We met Dad, Wes, and Jeff there too.
Then, after church we met up with Mom and all went to her choice of Macaroni Grill for lunch.
She got part of her gift from us here and more later. She had been wanting a Polaroid camera ever since we bought that one to give away at the Tween Rally.
Wes gave her his fitbit blaze and she was pretty happy about it as you can tell.
Jeff and Mom and Dad gave her money which she was happy about as well!
I guess I didn't get a picture of her with Mom and Dad. :-(
Later she had a party with her friends. She wanted to have a sleepover and do a spa party so that's what we did.
She got the ukulele that she had been wanting from us.
She got some gift cards, money, and some other random things from her friends.
Only one of her friends that she invited couldn't come. These are the girls (plus Hattie) that she hangs out with the most. I couldn't be more pleased with her choice of friends. I am so thankful that she has them!!
We made sundaes for dessert after having pizza for dinner.
The girls did some karaoke which was so much fun to watch! Then, they soaked their feet and did pedicures.

Next, they did manicures. I had nail stickers and polish for them to try.
They tried out some of the face masks too.
Ava was really into the lip gloss making project. We made homemade lip gloss and put them in little containers for the girls to take home. We used some of my essential oils and my lipsticks to create some different kinds.
They seemed to enjoy this!
They came up with their own names for them.
After this they settled down to watch a couple of movies in the living room. All in all, I think it was a fun party and the girls seemed to have a good time.
I still can hardly believe that Hannah is 13, an official teenager. While she has been acting like a teenager for quite some time, if you know what I mean, I still find it hard to wrap my brain around the fact that we have had her that long. Time is just flying. Before we know it, she will be leaving home and that is almost too much to think about. I am trying to enjoy her though (it is hard sometimes). ha! I know that this too shall pass. She really is a pretty good kid. We are very proud of how well she does in school, the friends that she has, the type of friend that she is, and all the many talents she has. Right now she loves music, her friends, baking, journaling, reading, watching hair tutorials, and vegging out in front of the t.v. to watch her shows. She lives in leggings and t-shirts and loves to try new ways of fixing her hair. She is quite good at it too. She is getting more and more into make-up. Sometimes I have to pump the breaks on her just a bit, but she has been pretty good about it. She is interested in playing the guitar or ukulele, enjoys band, and knows every word to just about any popular song. She picks up the words to music incredibly fast. I am so amazed at this. She has enjoyed cross country and is getting to lift some weights in the off season right now. She seems to be enjoying this. I think she may even try out some track events in the spring.
Hannah, we love you so very much and pray that this next year is your best yet! We pray that you will use your talents to glorify God and that you will continue to be a leader and example for those around you! Happy 13th Birthday!!!
