Kitchen Countertops

A couple of weeks ago, Kris and I worked on laying granite tile down on our kitchen countertop and a tile back splash.  It was a job.  We did it together, though, which was fun.  We had a pretty big mishap, but got it worked out and we love how they turned out!!!

He had to saw off the front of the current countertop first.

 
He got a new toy out of the deal.  He was really happy about that even though you can't tell it by this picture.  Ha!

Then, all he had to do was lay them down and cut a few to fit.  The hardest part were the edge pieces.

Here they are all done.  I love them.  Kris even installed lighting underneath the top cabinets.  This is a HUGE help because it was quite dark along the counter space.

One more project down.  We had enough tile leftover that I think we will update the kids' bathroom countertop with it.  I need a project break though.  This one was a doozy!!!
