Week 18

This week Layton went to his friend Drew's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese.  Drew was one of his friends from preschool last year.  Here he is playing a race car game with Phillip, another friend from last year.

We had Peak duty in September.  Kris leads the singing and does the communion meditation.  He does such a great job.

Hannah is still enjoying Bible Journaling.  :-)

PV had a big Block Party on September 11th to support the first responders in our area.  It was a big hit!

Hannah got to meet a police officer that she had written a note to to say thank you for his service.  Mrs. Tina divided all the officers up among all the City Life kids and had them write them notes.  This officer was so moved by Hannah's note that he actually came up to the church building one Sunday night with a note for her.  She wasn't there because we have Life Group at our home, but one of our elders talked to him and got the note to give to Hannah.  The coolest part was that she actually got to meet him at the Block Party.  It was so neat.  He actually said that her note had made his career and he has been a Police Officer for over 20 years.  This was just a HUGE lesson in what a kind word of thanks can be for someone.  I am so thankful for Mrs. Tina and all the others that are teaching our kids at PV!!!

This girl.  Man is she such a help to me.  She took Ledger and put him to sleep one evening while I worked on cooking supper.  She is just great with him!

Lincoln is doing really well in tennis.  I think we are about to have to do something different with him if he wants to continue.  He needs a bit more of a challenge.  There are so many kids that he is not getting to play singles matches.  I really would like to see how he could do if challenged a bit more.  We'll see what happens.  I hope he wants to keep playing, though, because he is quite good.

Mimi and Pappaw came up during the week to be able to go to Grandparent's Day with Layton.  He really wanted them to go.  They also got to see Lincoln play tennis.
