March 5th:
Since the drain pipe at the driveway washed out, the guys Kris had do it had to come back and dig it out again.
March 7th:
We are really starting to see the grass that we planted coming up.
March 10th:
One day soon there will be a shop and a house sitting back there! So exciting!
Ledger exploring a bit.
This pipe was for our 1/2 acre on Lawson that Kris bought. He is mainly going to use it as a place to get firewood, but it needed a pipe as well.
Love my boys. Cracks me up that Ledger has a mouthful of something in this picture.
March 18th:
March 21st:
Getting things started on the shop. I think these are the anchor bolts for the concrete.
Tremayne's guys got the shop pad ready to pour concrete.
We ordered a bunch of trees to plant. They came in the mail like this.
March 23rd:
The pieces to Kris' shop were finally delivered!
March 24th:
Time to pour the concrete for the shop. This was a Saturday morning so we all came out to watch.
This kid is obsessed with all the big trucks right now. He says "I ride it!!"
It was time to plant our trees. So, we measured off the space we wanted between our apple trees. We planted several different kinds. Kris' parents always had apple trees, so Kris really wants some too!
This is the list of everything we planted.
The tree planting was definitely a family project. Everyone pitched in, and we had so much fun! It was not an easy task though. The ground was pretty hard.
I LOVE this picture!! Everyone helping!
Layton has loved riding his bike on the street and around the land while we have been there.
Meanwhile, they are still working on the concrete.
I did more than just take pictures.
Hannah didn't mind to get her face dirty. Love it!
His smile is just infectious!
The driveway pipe provided lots of fun as well.
He scared me for a minute. I thought he was going to get in there and get stuck and I would have to go in after him. Thank goodness he didn't.
Just about done!
We planted the blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry bushes at the very back of the property. We marked them with stakes.
All the berry bushes.
Now to wait for it to dry and cure.
March 29th:
Kris finally got to start his shop. He had to place the big beams first.
Dad helped him a ton with this!
Starting to take shape.
March 30th:
They were back at it again the next day.
Jeff came over and helped for a little while--until things got too tall for him. Apparently he does not like heights. Ha!
Two peas in a pod right there.
Exploring some more. Oh how I can hardly wait for the day they can be out here for good.
That is Lincoln up there.
March 31st:
Starting on the top.
Layton is pretty much out there at the land with his dad anytime he can be. He loves it!
I took a picture of this because just look at all the screws/nails for the building. Gives me a headache just thinking about having to know where they all go and how much work it was going to be to put them all in.
This was about where I decided to go home and not watch anymore. The thought of them standing on the top of the metal about made me sick. I was especially worried about my dad doing it. I don't think he had to, but yikes.
This was where it stood at the end of March! Still lots to do, but making progress at least!
