Aunt Rosie

This is a post that just a few short months ago I never would have imagined I would be writing.  My Aunt Rosie passed away on March 1st.  I still can't believe it.

Back around Christmas she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.  She had been having what she thought was sciatic nerve problems for a while.  She went to the doctor and found out it was something more serious.  They decided to do some radiation until they could get her to Little Rock.  Little Rock has a really well-known Myeloma Institute.  Well, she ended up getting a serious type of pneumonia and having to be put on a ventilator.  She also had some problems with some blood clots.  Towards the end of January we thought we were seeing improvements, but they ended up having to put her back on the ventilator.  On January 30th they finally were able to move her to Little Rock.  After that it really was just a roller coaster ride of emotions.  Jolie and Linzi were here for weeks and Aunt Bet, Aunt Suz, and Mom would come when they could.  It was just a nightmare.  Her body just couldn't get well.  She never really came off the vent.  It was heartbreaking.

On March 1st, she passed away surrounded by so many of her loved ones.  I was there and it was one of the most difficult things I have ever been through.  She was just so loved.  It was extremely hard to see my cousins watch their mom pass away.  So hard.  It just did not seem real.

She was such an example of unselfish love.  She loved supporting her kids and grand kids in all the sports they played.  She loved to laugh and have a good time especially with her sisters.  She was good at her job.  She was a para professional for special education kids and apparently was amazing at it.  This was something I really did not realize about her until after she passed away.  She was dearly loved at her job.  She was the BEST mother, sister, and grandmother.  I know that her kids, siblings, and grand kids just don't know what to do without her.  BUT she is with her Lord and because of that, we are comforted.  Her grandson, Hayden, was baptized the Sunday after she died.  She leaves an unbelievable legacy of love and faith and she will forever be missed.
