This month my friend, Amy, and I went to dinner with Laura Rowan. Laura was one of our Heartfelt Moms from last year. We went to Cheddar's for dinner and to just catch up. We had great conversation and great food! We shared this yummy cake at the end!
We have been in the middle of basketball for Lincoln and Layton this month.
Kind of a crazy looking shot, but he made it!
We started something this year that I hope maybe becomes a yearly thing for our family. Kris and I wanted to try to read the Bible through in a year. I had the idea of trying to get the kids to do it too. This is something that they have never done before and can be a daunting task. So, we told them that we would go have a special treat after they complete each month's reading. Kris and Hannah found a reading schedule that they like and are using it. I found one called "The One Year Chronological Bible" on my YouVersion app on my phone. I just use it to keep track and actually read from my NIV Study Bible which is my favorite. The boys are using The Day by Day Kid's Bible. It breaks it down to where they can read the Bible in a year, 7 minutes a day. This is more doable for them right now. Ledger, of course, is not participating in the reading part yet--just the treats! :-)
Our first treat was to the new Freddie's for some yummy frozen custard.
Ledger still loves to read!
Occasionally we try to sit on the potty.
We were facetiming with Mimi and Pappaw one day. I couldn't resist taking this picture. I don't remember what Dad had been up to, but he was pretty tired! Ha!
I love my Heartfelt group this year! I have really enjoyed getting to know the ladies. We have had amazing food and I always love to hear Pam Collar lead a devo! This particular week we surprised Amanda with diapers and wipes for her 2 twin boys that were coming soon!
More basketball pics!
At one point almost everyone in our family was sick. Lincoln had the flu!
We thought everyone else did too at this point. They all had fever and felt lousy. I was SO glad I didn't get it!
Hannah is on her second month of guitar lessons. She seems to be enjoying it and is sounding good!
Spring pictures. Cute boys.
Couldn't resist posting this great reminder.
Last of the basketball pics.
Ledger hanging out at a game.
Hannah is such a great big sister!
On our way to get a much needed haircut. Lincoln has decided that he wants his hair to grow out. I don't know how I feel about this. Hoping that he will realize how annoying it will be to have to keep it out of his face. I convinced him to get it trimmed so that is good I guess!
I made this raspberry cheesecake for Book Club in honor of Valentine's Day and our book One True Loves. I sure do love our Book Club. This was our 28th book to read.
This was Layton and some of his peers at church. They were reciting a Bible verse.
Ledger likes hats--kind of like his brother Lincoln.
Having a snack while we were waiting in the car for some reason.
Brother's dirty underwear can be a hat too, right?
Smiley boy!
He had helped himself in the pantry to some chips. He even found a bowl and put them in it. Ha!
Ledger is kind of into things these days. I found him in the bathroom like this.
I guess he needed to wipe his nose. LOL!
Hanging out with Mommy at the church. As of March 1st I will officially be the Nursery Director at PV. This is my little desk area in Tina and Linda's office. I was meeting with Linda to go through all the things that I will be responsible for. I am taking over the Nursery area that used to be her responsibility. The great thing is that I can do most everything from home. I will be responsible for getting teachers and nursery workers on a quarterly/monthly basis. I will do the promotions and the Baby Blessing in January as well as some other various duties. I am excited about it!
The interesting thing about this job was that I had been specifically praying for a way to get involved at PV--to find my purpose. Purpose has just been a soapbox of Kris' and mine lately. Purpose is actually my theme word for the year too. This job just kind of fell in my lap. Linda asked me if I wanted to do it. I thought about it and prayed about it. Ultimately I just felt like it was God answering my prayer of a way to have a purpose at PV. He never ceases to amaze me with His faithfulness!
