The Last Supper

We had a little cooking club get-away this past weekend. Since the Blands are moving soon, we decided we needed to have one "last supper" together. We went to Pangburn and stayed in a little cabin on the Little Red River. It was nice to just go as couples and not have to worry about all the little ones running around. Sloane came, of course, but she was sooooo good!

Craig & Carrie

Matthew & Julie

Kris & I

Friday night we made smores around the fire, cracked way too many "that's what she said" jokes, played Cranium and Mad Gab, and just talked (Well at least I know the girls did. The guys probably just sat there in silence around the fire. Who knows!).

Nathan-- keeping the fire going.

Everyone finally went to bed around 2 am. We woke up at about 8:30 a.m. to rain! Big disappointment for the guys. They were not able to go fishing in Matthew's boat. So, they just had to fish off the dock.

One of the highlights of the trip was when Nathan pulled in this huge trout!! He was so proud of himself. He was so proud of it, that they all decided to cook it over the fire and eat it for lunch! I wish I had a picture of this, but by this time, the girls were already gone.

We went to Searcy to get pedicures. They were awesome! They had these wonderful chairs that massaged you the whole time.

The results!
Okay, so part of me doesn't want to share this part of the experience because it is a little embarrassing. BUT I can laugh about it NOW so I will. While we were getting our pedicures, I decided that I'd get an eyebrow wax too. Well, let's just say in keeping with our theme, my eyebrows got COOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY WORD! I was so mad/upset with the Chinese lady who did it. And I was mad at myself for not being specific about what I wanted. She decided she would take it upon herself to completely change my eyebrows! Seriously, I was so upset I cried! I can laugh now, but it took awhile. I'm getting used to the way they look, but hopefully I can get them back to normal soon! So, here's the before (sniff, sniff).

And here's the after.

Honestly, I can hardly look at these pictures! Kris thought they looked good. That actually really helped me cause I honestly thought he'd laugh! Okay, enough said about that.
We cooked out hamburgers and hotdogs for supper. Yummy! Here's the whole group! I love these guys!

We are going to miss the Blands so much! They have been such wonderful friends to us and have been amazing with our kids. We love you guys!

Silly boy

I was getting things ready for LIFE Group last night and I realized I hadn't heard Lincoln for a little while. That can never be good!!!! I found him in the bathroom--fixing his hair!!!

He was using water and everything. Is that not hilarious??!!

More decorating!

Well, Kris and I sent the kids to my parents last weekend so we could paint our bedroom. It is pretty much the last thing we'll do to the inside of the house for a while! We have some plans for our kitchen and master bath, but will be waiting a while to do that. I got a new bedspread a couple of months ago and so we were wanting to make the room around that.

Here are some before the painting pictures.

Kris had the idea to paint one wall a chocolate brown color as well as the tray ceiling. The other 3 walls and the closet we did in a tan color. I love how it turned out.

Wye Mountain 2009!

We go to Wye Mountain every year! It is a great place to take pictures! So beautiful!

You are not supposed to pick the flowers! Lincoln would not stop!

Big smile!

Hannah and Kenzie. Silly faces.

My pretty girl.

He just keep making himself bouquets!

The Keim Men, Cows, & Cousins

Last weekend we went to visit Kris' parents. What did we do while we were there?

Lincoln tried to drive Grandad's truck to go check on the cows.

This is one of my new favorite pictures. Doesn't Lincoln look soooooo sweet!?!!!

Here's another sweetie... She had to take her purse with her to see the cows. :)

The Keim Men - 3 Generations here. I love it! I can see Kris when he's his dad's age doing the same thing. (He wants cattle and land soooo bad!) Who knows? Maybe Lincoln has it in his blood too.

Hannah and her cousin Isabel. They played really well together and had so much fun. I wish we saw Isabel more often, but she lives in Kansas City. :(

Grandma gave them some fingernail polish for Valentines Day/Easter so they had to paint each others nails.
The Keims have some friends who run a dairy farm. We went over to see all the baby calves and to learn about the whole process of milking cows. It was really neat to see. There were about 30 calves in their barn and they weren't quite through.

This big tank is where they keep the milk after the cows are milked. We let the kids have a look.

We had a great visit with Grandma and Grandad. There are always fun things to do and learn!

Fun times at home

There are so many cute moments to capture of the kids just while they are playing here at home. I try to think to get out the camera. Here are a few pictures I took the last couple of weeks of some memorable things they did.

Linc and Jack decided to actually share the golf ball this time and roll it to each other. It really IS more fun to play together!!! I love when they giggle at each other!

The weather here has been absolutely CRAZY!!! Monday it was about 80 degrees outside and the last couple of days it has been in the 30's!!! So, Monday afternoon I decided we needed to take advantage of the beautiful weather. This was after nap time and I was trying to kill the rest of the afternoon. I was sitting on a bench reading a book while the kids played in the sandbox. I looked up to find this....

Hannah decided to take off her clothes and was in the process of taking off Jack's when I caught her! Lincoln was begging her to take his shirt off, but she wouldn't. She thought it was the funniest thing!

They were some DIRTY kiddos after all their fun! I had to take a picture of Lincoln's face. Notice all the dirt (because he was eating sand) and the two streams of snot running down both nostrils. Gross. But we had fun. That's all that matters, right?
