Big News: A Big Change!!!

Recently, a friend of ours who is the VP of Advancement and Enrollment at Central Arkansas Christian School, approached us about coming over to CAC.  To be quite honest, this was something that I have always desired for our family because I have seen over the years, the values of this school and the caliber of students it puts out.  Anytime I would bring it up to Kris, he always said we just couldn't afford it.  So, when Chad asked to talk to us, I was afraid it just wouldn't work out.  We talked and it wasn't long before we realized we might be able to swing it.  Yes, it is a private school so it costs money.  But we loved what we heard and prayed about it--a lot.  We didn't go seeking this change, but God has been so good to us over the last few years.  I started working for the church back in March as the Nursery Director.  It is a part-time job, but it has provided a little more income than we had previously.  So, we decided it was something we could do and that maybe God was putting in our path.  Everything worked out like it needed to and before we knew it, we were enrolling our kids!

Now, when we told the kids about our decision, the boys were excited about it, but Hannah was not.  In fact, she was quite upset.  She has some really good friends at Bryant and she was pretty mad at us for planning to move her away from them.  I don't blame her one bit.  We just hope that she will be able to see what we see in this school and eventually make some friends here that she will love just as much or more.

Before school was out, we were able to take Layton to the Elementary which is actually at our church building to meet his principal and tour the school.  We know Mrs. Cruce from church as well as Mrs. Stripling who will be his 2nd grade teacher next year.  Then, we took Hannah and Lincoln to the secondary campus which is in Maumelle to speak with Chad and tour the school.  Chad knew of Hannah's reservations and issues and he planned a little group of girls from her class to greet her with signs when she came in!  This was so great!  We talked with Chad and looked around and surprisingly when we left both she and Lincoln put on the CAC t-shirts that they had been given and wore them back to school at Bryant!  We were shocked!

So, why do we want our kids to go to school here?

The Christian teachers and staff that they will get to have teach them, encourage them, and be examples to them is a big one.

This is from their website:

CAC believes the key to student success is modeling the example of love and purpose shown to us by Jesus Christ. Their dedicated teachers and coaches encourage their students to fortify their personal relationships with God and challenge them to use their talents to achieve their full potential in all facets of their being in order to bring glory to God.

With Jesus’ command in Mark 12:30 as our guiding principle and cornerstone of all of our education programs, we partner with parents to help prepare our students intellectually, spiritually and physically for life outside of our halls.
Year after year we achieve this goal through an academically challenging and spiritually encouraging curriculum and by inspiring students of all ages to participate in our many extracurricular activities and outreach organizations.
From our athletic programs, to our student and faculty-led outreach group called Mustang Missions, we view each of these programs as an opportunity for students to use their talents to glorify God while growing into future Christian church, civic and family leaders.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” – Mark 12:30
This scripture is what we want for our kids. Sure they can learn this going to public school.  I believe they could.  We just want them to fall in love with Jesus.  Our prayer is that by putting them in this  environment, they will have a greater chance of doing this.  It's just that simple.  It is not a guarantee.  We know this, but we really felt led here and have faith that God has a plan.
