Pictures from the End of the School Year

Lincoln's reading teacher, Mrs. Menard, had what she called a Book Tasting.  She had a table set up for each different genre of books.  The kids would spend so much time at each table reading several books at the table for a few minutes at a time.  Then, they would have to write a little something about each one.  They got a little "taste" of each kind of book.  It was so neat!  She also went all out on the snacks and decor and she made them dress up too!

Ledger and I came, but it was during his nap time.  He ended up falling asleep during part of it.  Sweet boy.

That hair though.  He is such a mess.

I was SO proud of our boy!!  He never ceases to amaze me.  Not only did he meet his AR reading goal, but he got first place in his Reading class for having the most points.  He has just had the best year.  He finally figured out that reading is fun!  I am so thankful for Mrs. Menard for encouraging him to read something other than graphic novels!!

His 5th grade class.

Mrs. Menard gave each kid their favorite book to keep.  So nice!

Layton had a little award ceremony in his class.

He got the Quick Thinker Award!

I loved seeing the slide show of pictures from throughout the year that his teacher showed.  I tried to take pictures of the slides, but the quality wasn't too great.

Layton had a great year too!  He learned a lot and really loved playing with his friends.  He is quiet and can be shy with adults, but he knows how to have fun with his friends.  He is such a little cutie pie.
