Memorial Day Weekend in KC

We went to KC for Memorial Day weekend.  It had been a bit since we'd seen Grandma and Grandad, so it was good to see them.  Grandad is really making progress and is pretty close to being back to normal.  He is no longer having to use a walker and even didn't have his back brace on much while we were there.  We are so thankful for that!!!

The kids were super excited to see most of their cousins this trip!  Isabel and Addison came to hang out on Saturday.  Hannah and Isabel love each other!

Sweet Addison.  She is 6 months old now and SO cute!!!

The kids just love Logan and Lindsey.  They are just amazing with the kids too.  Lindsey was a freshman this past year at Harding.  She is going to Greece I believe this fall semester.  Love her!

The girls helped Grandma get some corn ready for lunch.

Logan and Addison.  Super proud of Logan.  He has such a servant's heart.  Shortly after we saw him this weekend, he left for Honduras for the summer doing all kinds of good works there.  He is a student at Harding right now, but I see great things in his future.

The weather was beautiful while we were there, so the kids got to be outside quite a bit.  Layton wanted to be out there constantly.  Lincoln had him pulling him in the wagon all over the place.  He didn't seem to mind.

Aunt Mona had gone and bought all kinds of pretty flowers for the kids to plant for Grandma.  So, Saturday afternoon they all helped do that.  The girls got into it more than the boys did.

Meanwhile, all the Keim men (Les, Kurt, Kris, and Grandad) worked on Grandad's tractor for a while.

While everyone was taking a break...

we all watched this guy climb this huge tree.  Yikes!!!

I had Hannah and Lincoln take some pictures of Kris and I.

That snake had gone into the tree and had stuck its head out of a hole and been watching us for a while.  Then, we saw it start to climb back down the tree.  The next thing we all know, Logan grabs it!!

The girls' reaction!!!!

The sucker was long!!!

It took a few minutes, but all the kids eventually ended up touching it.

Crazy afternoon fun.

I took a picture of Grandad's barn.  The roof had been removed and they have had someone working on it this week to get a new roof on it.

After resting, Lindsey, Les, Kris and Grandad worked on planting some of the garden.  Look at Grandad bending over!  Didn't think he would be able to do that for a long, long time!

The girls spent the night with Aunt Mona on Saturday night.  They had a blast.  They at popcorn in bed and watched movies.  Mona brought them to church Sunday morning and then we all came back to Grandma's for lunch.  After lunch Mona took all 4 kids to the movies to see Epic.  They loved it.  Then, she took them to Gordman's and let them all pick out a toy.  Layton got a motorcycle.  Lincoln got a bow and arrow set and the girls got a make-up/vanity set.  Oh my!  They covered themselves in make-up when they got home.  Aunt Mona also got each of them a pair of shoes.  The girls got some fun flip flops.  Layton got some blue and red shoes.  Lincoln got his first pair of flip flops.  She really spoiled them.  Then, she took them all back to spend the night with her.  Well, around 8:30 or so, we got a call.  I had forgotten to pack Layton puppy dog and I guess he realized it and was a bit unsure he wanted to stay.  We were all not surprised.  So, Grandma went and picked him up.  Ha!  The other three stayed and loved it!  Mona brought them back the next morning and then we headed home.  We all had a GREAT weekend!
