Let's see....
What he eats: Lincoln is an okay eater. I will definitely say he's gotten pickier lately for some reason. I'm having trouble getting him to eat as much breakfast as he used to. He likes cereal okay but isn't into waffles or anything that is very sticky. He'll eat a scrambled egg and some toast with prompting. He absolutely loves "Root" or fruit. He loves strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches, apricots, oranges, pineapple, cherries, nectarines, apples, grapes, and bananas. We eat a lot of fruit around here. He also loves baked potatoes with butter and cheese. He will usually eat the whole thing, skin and all. He loves Mimi's fried okra. Some other favorites are broccoli, corn-on-the-cob, peas, cheetos, and most things sweet, especially candy. Lincoln drinks all the time. He is constantly asking me for a drink. He loves juice or milk. I'm trying to get him to drink more water. He gets very upset with me when I give him water though.
What he likes to play with: Lincoln's favorite toys right now are balls. He has been on this kick where he wants to have a little ball in the palm of his hand all the time. If he loses track of it, he gets so sad. He's even wanted to go to bed with one, but we've made him give it up because we don't want to have to get it for him numerous times at night when he wakes up and is not able to find it. I don't know. He just has something about holding something little in his hand. He also likes bats. He likes to hit balls with them and people with them, especially Hannah or Jack. :) He loves his cowboy boots and likes to ride his "hee haw". He likes to play with his "bang bang" or hammer and his tools. He has learned to use the scissors a little and grabs them whenever he can.
He and Hannah together: They either love each other or they don't. They fight alot, but make up quickly and easily. They like to play kitchen together. He doesn't take too well to all the bossing around that Hannah likes to do, so he'll take something away from her or hit her. She'll scream and cry and maybe hit back. I'll go in and tell them to stop and to be nice to each other. Hannah will tell me what Lincoln did and he'll usually have to apologize, which he does sweetly with a hug. We do this over and over again every day. For all their fighting, they still love each other. Lincoln always asks where Hannah is when he first wakes up. They give each other the sweetest hugs and kisses at night before bed. Melts my heart to see them love on each other.
Other things they play together are that they are being chased by "munsters." They love to play in Lincoln's bed together. Here they are reading a book together.
Today Hannah was trying to dress Lincoln in his swimming trunks. She put her swimsuit on and then took off his shorts, made him lay down, and tried with much difficulty to get the trunks on him. I love hearing them talking, laughing, and giggling with each other.
Places he likes to go: Lincoln loves to go to the Peabody Park (spray park downtown). It took him going a time or two to get into it, but now he LOVES it! He is fun to watch and watch I MUST do or else he will climb up the hill and go by himself to play on the playground completely where I can't see him. He did this the other day while I was taking 3 little pictures of Hannah (no time flat). I looked up and couldn't find him so I quickly ran to the playground and finally found him running around. He is a stinker sometimes!
He loves to play in any kind of water he can find.
Linc loves to be outside, but will let me know that it is hot out there! He loves to be pushed in the swing. He loves to go swimming. We went swimming the other day with a friend. He wanted to put on the arm floaties and jump into the pool to me. I'd let him go underwater where his face was completely covered. He loved it and jumped in over and over again. He's pretty fearless in the water.
What he's saying: Pretty much anything now. His little vocabulary has really grown. He uses the words, "big" and "little" alot. He'll say he wants a "liddle bit" of toilet paper when he's on the potty. He says he's "too liddle" or "too big" for things alot. His face is so cute when he's talking like this. Oh, he asks "why" all the time!!! Over and over again he asks "why?". It wears me out. The other day when I was babysitting Jack, I walked into the playroom and could tell someone was stinky. So, I said, "Who's stinky?" Lincoln quickly said, "Jack!" Well, it was not Jack! Too cute! When he prays he prays for Momma, Daddy, Nanna, Mimi, Pappaw, Grandma, Grandad, Jack, Carter, Jackson, Benson, and Sloane.
How he's sleeping: He is doing so great in his big boy bed! He stays in it all night! Sometimes during the night he will wake up crying out. Sometimes he'll say "No no!" or other things. I think he has bad dreams. He is waking up between 6:30 and 7:30 in the mornings and just comes running out of his room when he wakes up! I love this! He is always raring to go after having been asleep. I don't get much cuddle time with him cause he's off to play. One of my favorite times is putting him to sleep. We read a couple of stories. His favorite books right now are My Truck is Stuck, his Mickey Mouse book, and It's Not Easy Being a Bunny which he calls "the bunny sad" book. His favorite bible story is Jonah. He insists on reading it every time.
Potty Training: A couple of weeks ago I didn't have Jack all week so I thought I'd hit the potty training hard. I took Lincoln to the store and let him pick out which potty seat he wanted. We got the basketball one. It just fits over the regular toilet. I let him pick out some underwear. He picked Diego and Elmo ones. Then, we started by just being outside with the underwear on. He quickly peed in them. So, I just let him run around naked. He never pee peed when he was naked. When he'd sit on the potty, he would never go. He did really well sitting though when I'd ask him to. He would get 1 M&M for trying and 2 if he would go pee pee. After about 24 hours, I could just tell he wasn't ready so we stopped. Since then he has actually gone pee pee in the potty numerous times and will just on occasion tell me that he needs to go potty. Sometimes he uses it and sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he says he has to "poop" and then when he gets on the potty he will poot and tell me he pooped. Funny boy! Potty training will come in time. I am not worried about it.
I love this little guy so much! I love the "big kiss" that he loves to give us. He is such a loving little boy. He definitely keeps me hopping every day. I am so thankful to God and to Kris for making it possible for me to stay home everyday with Lincoln and watch him grow!
He loves Bible class. He can be a booger in there sometimes I think. He just has so much energy. It is hard to bottle him up. We are having a really hard time with him during worship. He likes to talk out loud constantly and get up and down a lot. I have decided it is time to start cracking down on this. So, we've been taking him out more often and spanking him. Hopefully he will learn that he has to be quiet in church eventually. I know this is a hard age to sit still for long though.
