Garage Sale

Last Friday and Saturday Carrie, Leanne, Julie, and I had a HUGE garage sale at Julie's house. Thursday night after Bunko, we all headed over with all our stuff to try to get most of it set up before opening at 7:00 a.m. the next morning. We had to cram it all in her garage overnight. It would barely fit! We left there at 1:30 a.m.!!!

This is us bright and early!

We just had a ton of stuff, especially clothes!

Carrie, Leanne, and I took turns watching the 4 kids for half the day Friday. I caught Hannah rubbing Jack's back! So cute! These two love each other! They play so well together. I wish I could get Hannah to play with Lincoln like she does with Jack!

Sweet little Eden was all smiles!

Lincoln got to ride him a horse. Too bad he didn't have his boots and hat!

Here they are dancing to Dora!

Then they decided they'd try to ride each other. They thought this was fun.

He wasn't hurting Jack, I promise!!!

Of course, Hannah had to try to fix Eden's hair for her.

They seriously had so much fun together while we were giving away, I mean selling all our junk. We closed up Friday at 3:30 and then came back out Saturday from 7:00 to 1:30. I sold a big computer desk, my double stroller, a craft table, a bunch of little toys, a bunch of clothes, the castle Kris made for Hannah's 4th birthday party, a blower, a kids bicycle, and a ton of other things. I don't think I had quite as much as the other girls. I just had some bigger items. This was about all I had left!

It was slim pickings at the end.

Carrie had the awesome idea of a way to keep up with how much each person made. Everyone marked their stuff with a different colored sticker. Then, we made this chart and took the sticker off each item sold and added them all up at the end. We ended up making over $1300 total, a little over $300 each! Not too bad!

First Day of Pre-K

Hannah started Pre-K on Thursday! I can't believe she is almost 5 years old!!! This year she is going 3 mornings a week till 11:30. I am excited for her, what she will learn and the friends she will make. Fortunately there were 3 or 4 kids from her class last year in this year's class so I know that really helped her alot the first day.

She did great! She went in and washed her hands, which apparently is something that they will have to do each day first thing.

Then she was supposed to pick a center to play in. She chose the Home Living center--surprise, surprise. This girl loves to be a little momma.

I know Hannah will have a great year! I really want to try to savor every minute of this time because next year I know things will really change with Kindergarten!

Hannah's 1st Trip to the Hair Salon!

Yes, I did say 1st trip! Hannah is almost 5 years old and until the other day, she had never had her hair cut in a salon! Our friend Jennifer had cut it since she was about 9 months old. Since Jennifer moved, I tried to cut it myself once. I did okay, but I decided that before preschool started last week, she needed to go have it cut. I wasn't brave enough to do anything drastic with it yet even though I know that if/when we do cut it short, it will be SO cute. So, we just got a trim. We went to this cute place called Pigtails and Crew Cuts.

Hannah chose to sit in the taxi car. She would not smile for me, but sat very still and did a really good job!

This is Hannah all done with her first salon hair cut! Doesn't she look thrilled?!

Water Fun!

These are just some pictures from the last week of the kids playing in water. They got out in the sprinkler with their water guns and chased each other around shooting each other the other day. They call the guns their "shooters."

Then, Lincoln got the idea to use the sprinkler to spray water on his sister! He thought this was funny!

Next, he watered the flowers in the flower bed.

Hannah decided she'd drink her water.

Last night when they were taking a bath, I caught them like this just a giggling.

Then Linc decided to play with the paper dolls. Here he is giving the Barbie a surf board. Ha!

Last night they wanted to help me wash some dishes in the kitchen sink. So, I let them pull up 2 chairs and have at it. By the time they were done, there was water all over my kitchen floor and all over Lincoln.

Playing in the water is so fun!!!

Royals Game With Family

Uncle Kurt turned the big 4-0 on Saturday so the WHOLE family went to a Royals Game! It was a scorcher outside, but we had awesome seats in the shade and had a blast!

Lincoln walking in with Grandad and Grandma.

Hannah & Isabel having a snack.

One of Kris' friends growing up, Brad Ziegler (his preacher's son from back home), pitches for the Oakland A's, the team the Royals were playing. So, before the game we all went to say hello and get pics and autographs.

The Birthday Boy!

Lincoln and Grandad eating peanuts. Lincoln ate a TON of them sitting with Grandad!

Kauffman Stadium

During this game they paid tribute to our military. We were extremely impressed with all they did so show appreciation for those men & women serving our country. They had lots of videos from Afghanistan of soldiers who were Royals fans and even had some live video of them watching the game.

I took this picture after some of the tribute. I got kind of emotional during some of it so my eyes were all red.

Hannah and Isabel just play so great together. They kept each other entertained the whole time.

We saw the Royals Mascot come out to the stands so the kids went down to see him. He scooped Hannah up before she knew what was happening. I could not believe that she wasn't scared. She thought it was so fun! Big smiles! Lincoln wasn't too sure about him. He started backing away when he got close.
Towards the end of the game, Brad started warming up so Kris and the guys went down to watch him and take some pictures. Brad pitches sidearm or submarine style. It is neat to watch him.

We kept hoping that he would get to pitch. They called him in during the 9th inning. Here he is warming up out on the field.

He pitched one time, a strike, and that was it. The guy was out and the inning was over. Oh well, at least we got to see him pitch, even if it was only once!

It had been awhile since all of Kris' family had gotten together so it was great seeing everyone.
