Fun on the farm

A couple of weekends ago we took our last trip to my parents' house before the baby comes. The kids just LOVE to be on the farm!! There are so many fun things to do! This particular trip they got to pick strawberries from Mimi's garden. Mimi and Pappaw have strawberries this year and have really enjoyed them.

Got one! My kiddos LOVE strawberries!!

In addition to the strawberries, the dew berries were just starting to be ready. So, they got to pick those as well.

What makes this so fun? Eating them right after you pick them of course!!! My dad took the kids out to the back of the property on the four wheeler one evening. There are TONS of dew berries back there. They came back with some they had picked and put in Pappaw's hat. However, according to Pappaw, Lincoln was shoving more of them in his mouth than he was putting in the hat. I wish I had taken a picture of his hands and face afterwards. They were completely purple! Ha!

Think he was having fun?

They got to "help" Pappaw drive the tractor.

This was Saturday afternoon. I couldn't bear to make them come in and take a nap because they were having so much fun outside. So, when they came in for a second, I asked them if they wanted to watch a little tv. This was my sneaky way of getting them to take a nap and it worked. They were both out in no time!

Sunday afternoon right before we were going to leave, Pappaw took the kids out for one last four wheeler ride. When he couldn't find his cows in the pasture, he realized that they had some how gotten out of the fence. Well, they trampled on some of Mimi's corn in the garden as they got away. This was not good! So, Pappaw and Uncle Jeff took off on the four wheelers to try to find all the cows. They could have been anywhere. It was not too long before we saw Pappaw walking with a bucket of feed or something in his hand with cows following right behind him--in a line.

He marched them all, every single one of them, back from across the street back to the back pasture.

Uncle Jeff held up the rear on the four wheeler. It was a funny sight!

Lots of excitement on the farm and lots of fun! We LOVE to visit Mimi and Pappaw!!!
