Fall Parties!

Last week both Hannah and Lincoln had fall parties at school. I like to go to their parties if I can whether I am helping with them or not. I enjoy seeing them having fun and sometimes experiencing new things. It is also a great way to see how they are at school and to get to know their friends a bit.

Lincoln's class had cupcakes and juice and then did a craft.

They made Indians.

They got treat bags to take home. He had a hard time holding in his excitement during his party. He kept getting up out of his seat. He is such a mess. All his energy is kind of frustrating sometimes, but I just keep hoping that one day either he will learn to control it better or it will be really helpful to him in some way--like he'll be really good at sports or something. Ha!

Hannah's class had a big party on Friday. They did lots of fun centers. When we first got there, they were counting the votes from their pumpkin decorating contest. They each brought home a little pumpkin and were told to decorate it and bring it back to school. They had read a book about a similar pumpkin decorating contest and like in the book, decided to tally all their votes.

They made monsters out of Rice Krispie Treats, marshmellows, gum drops, pretzels, and toothpicks.

This was Layton the whole time. Sweet little sleeping pumpkin!

They had a lady come and paint the kids' faces.

Hannah picked a black cat for her face.

They made Halloween picture frames.

Lincoln checked out the room. I would look around for him and find him looking at different things on the walls. He was very curious.

They played bingo with Mrs. Atwood.

Here's Linc after making his monster. He stuck a toothpick in a plate and was spinning it around. Such a boy. I was actually surprised he wasn't downing all the candy!

Friday was the 50th day of school! On the zero days (10, 20, 30 etc), Zero the Hero pays the class a visit. They always get a treat that is shaped like a zero from him when he comes. This time he brought FunYuns. I think this is so cute.

As you can see, we enjoyed our fall parties this year!
