Today we got up and drove to Orange Beach/Gulf Shores. We stopped at a couple of places and got all the necessary beach gear. We grabbed some lunch and headed to the beach! Everyone was so excited!
Ledger liked the water okay but wasn't a huge fan of the sand.
We had been there for a while and Ledger was a little fussy. So, I sat under the umbrella with him and it wasn't long until he fell asleep. I didn't realize it at the time, but he actually had a little fever. :-( That night it was 102.
After we had been there for a few hours, some clouds and rain rolled in. We didn't quite have enough time to get our stuff together before it started raining. We washed the sand off as best we could and ran to the car.
We ended up just heading back to the hotel. The weather cleared up and Kris took the big kids swimming. I stayed in with Ledger. We decided not to go back to the beach the next day due to Ledger's fever, so we started the trip home. We drove all the way to Jackson, MS, the next day. We got another hotel. Ledger seemed better, so we went swimming again.
That evening we grabbed Ledger some Wendy's and let him eat in the car before heading to the movies to see Despicable Me 3.
By this time, we were all kind of sick of eating out, so the rest of us just had popcorn and candy for supper. Ha! It was the perfect end to a wonderful, memorable, easy vacation!!! I am really looking forward to not planning another one!!
