Christmas in Texarkana

We had Christmas at Mom and Dad's the weekend before Christmas.  We had Christmas with Mom's side of the family that Saturday for lunch.

I love getting together with these people.  We always have so much fun and laugh and laugh.

This little sweety is my cousin Shawn's new baby boy, Alex.

We played the Favorite Things game for the first time this year.  Everyone brought 3 of the same thing. Our limit was only $5, so the item had to be $5.  This way you spent about $15 total. Then, we all drew 3 different names out of a hat.  We had to tell why we brought the item as our Favorite Thing and then hand them out to the 3 names that we drew.  All the girls did it together and then the guys did it.  It was a big hit--with both!!

Kris' favorite thing was a HUGE bag of gummy bears from Sams.  He brought the toilet paper roll too and said something stupid about it being the first thing he thought of but it was really his #2.  Yes, he said that.  Of course, my family thought it was hysterical.

Dad brought tape measures I think it was.

Uncle Bobby admiring his little screwdriver kit.  I think we will be doing this game again next year!

That evening we had our family Christmas at home.  The kids were so excited to see what they were going to get.

Lincoln got a new Chima alarm clock.

Hannah got an American Girl outfit.  She was thrilled!

Layton loved his little bitty cars from Uncle Jeff.

Beywarriors for Lincoln!

She really wanted this to be a Lego Friends set.

It was!  Thanks to Uncle Jeff and Uncle Wes.

Dad loves President George W. Bush.  He has taken up painting since leaving office.  You can't really buy one of his paintings yet, so I got the next best thing--an ornament of a replica of one of his paintings.

Tractors for Layt!

This was a big one on his Christmas list this year.  Any time you asked him what he wanted for Christmas he'd say, "A truck with a trailer and a fourleeler."  He got it!

Mrs. Kay Roberson's cookbook for Mom!

Happy Birthday to me!  Ha!
