50th Anniversary Weekend Part 1

My wonderful in-laws celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 28th. So, we headed down to Branson on Friday afternoon. The whole family was meeting there to see a show and spend the night. We saw the Pierce Arrow show that night. It was ok. Then we went back to the hotel. Grandma and Grandad had an awesome suite. Here is Layton checking out the huge jacuzzi tub. He actually turned on the water.

Lindsey, Carol, Logan, and Aaron hanging out.

The next day we drove to Kris' Aunt Doris' house near Springfield to have lunch and catch up.

This little monkey wanted to climb this tree.

After visiting Aunt Doris, we drove onto Louisburg, Missouri. This is where Grandma and Grandad are from. They knew each other as kids. We stopped at the cemetery and Grandma put flowers on her parents' grave and Grandad's parents' grave.

This is Grandma's grandparents' grave. Walter E and Getrude V Rice. I am mad at myself. I know I uploaded the picture of Grandma at her parents' grave, but somehow it got deleted. :-( Her parents were Roy H and Cledith B Sullivan Rice.

This is Grandad's parents' grave (Kris' grandparents). Lester Earl and Pearl Aeschliman Keim.

Kris' grandfather was in the navy. Notice the LEK initials.

Love this one of Grandad looking at his parents' grave.

Next we drove to Grandma's sister's house. Lincoln was trying to play ping pong with Alex and Logan.

Grandma and Bondena--sisters!

Lindsey and Layton

Lincoln had so much fun riding this thing around the covered porch.

Grown ups playing bocce ball, I think. Layton was probably after the balls.

Grandma playing with Layt.

After this, we drove home to Odessa. The next day after church was the reception for Grandma and Grandad. Kris created the invitations that went out a few weeks before. He had Tim Sitler from church help him. However, he had to play a joke on his mom first. He made this invitation first and put it on top of the others so that when she got them in the mail, she would think that this was the invitation. It was hilarious! The funny thing was, it fit so perfectly! The little rhyme he made up, was all about them.

This was the real invitation. Kris had Tim take a picture of our hands.

This post is getting so long, I'm going to have to break it down into multiple parts!
