You are such a big boy. You can climb up the slide now at the park and slide down. I don't have a picture of you on the slide, but here is one of you and Lucy in the car. Such cuties.
Future musician? I don't know. In the last few days, you have decided you want to try to sing. I love hearing your sweet little voice.
You are definitely talking more. You try to say a lot of things. It doesn't come out very clearly but I know you are trying. Your favorite things to say are "Uh oh" and "Mommy". You say "Wow!" or "Whoa!" when you get excited about something. You are very animated. Ms. Amy, your Sunday school teacher, even commented on this. You get excited about just about everything. Your eyes get really big and you open your mouth.
You know what the dog and cow say. You can say "Mimi". I think you said "puppy" the other day. You wave bye bye to everyone.
You are very concerned about your "boo boos" and mine as well. You make a face like you are hurting when you see a boo boo. Boo boos concern you alot. I had a bandaid on my finger one day, and you were so concerned about it. Ha!
One day while you were eating a snack, you started to fuss and I couldn't figure out what you were upset about. You pulled up your leg and pointed at a mosquito bite and said "boo boo" and had that concerned look on your face. So cute.
When you do something or see something you think is funny, you have this hilariously cute laugh. It is contagious. You like to laugh. You get tickled when you hear someone burp. You are such a little boy!
You are also trying to run. When Mimi and Pappaw and Grandma and Grandad have been here, you show out for them. You have started playing this game where you back up to the wall, stick your booty out, and get this "I'm fixing to take off" look on your face. We say "on your mark, get set, go" and you run across the room. You do this over and over again and think it is the funniest thing. I have a video of this I hope I can get to upload.
I got you a real toothbrush this month. You LOVE to brush your teeth. When I say anything about brushing your teeth, you get so excited and head for the bathroom. When you find the bathroom door open, you go in and get out your toothpaste (you can't reach your toothbrush) and start sucking on it. You don't like it when it is time to stop brushing your teeth.
Some of your favorite toys are any remote you can get your hands on, my cell phone, Lincoln's Lego's, markers, and any car.
You are really starting to climb on things. You can climb up on the playroom couch and have started climbing into the kitchen and dining room chairs. If you see the computer on the dining room table, you are constantly trying to get in a chair to bang on it. You get in trouble for getting in the chairs. I am so afraid you will hurt yourself.
One day I watched you while you were in the playroom trying to use the little stool to climb onto the couch. It was really funny. You were having a hard time getting the stool to stay in place and were getting frustrated.
At one point, you threw the stool onto the couch and decided to try to use a balloon. Ha!
It didn't work either.
You finally got up there and then thought you would stand on the stool on top of the couch. I had to step in here and direct you to something else. :) You are just funny to watch sometimes.
I found you like this one day. You had gotten into Hannah's markers and put them in your mouth.
You discovered it was all over your hands too.
You are doing a lot with your left hand. You throw the ball most of the time with it and eat with it alot. I wonder if you will be a lefty like your sister?
You got your bottom left one year molar this month. I think you have 12 teeth now. We are just waiting for those awful eye teeth.
You are a pretty good sleeper. You go down for naps and at bedtime very easily. However, some nights you will wake up and stand up in your bed. You yell "Momma Momma" or "Maaa" for milk until I come in your room. I pick you up and we go to the refrigerator and get a drink of milk. I go put you back down in bed and you usually go right back to sleep. There have been a few nights when you did this more than once. Just when I feel like I am tired of you doing it and tell myself I am going to make you cry it out, you stop doing it. Oh well. I know it won't happen forever. Honestly, I kind of like hearing you call for me. It is so sweet.
You have started holding mine and your daddy's hands at the supper table when we say the prayer. We all hold hands for the prayer and you used to not really pay any attention and would be drinking your milk or something during the prayer. Now, though, you hold our hands and listen intently to what the person saying the prayer is saying. When you hear "Amen", you try to say it. It usually comes out sounding like a very emphatic "Uh Uh" sometimes with a head bob. Love it.
I have put you in time out a time or two this month. We have our fireplace utensils out now next to the fireplace. You like to mess with them. We tell you no over and over again. You haven't been getting it so I have tried to put you in time out. I have done this mainly because you are a little stinker and will look at me and go touch it right after I have told you not to. You do this with other things as well. You are trying me to see how far I will go I guess. The time out didn't work that great mainly because I should have stayed and made sure you sat there, but I didn't.
For the most part, you are just the happiest little guy.
Layton - 16 months
Sometimes I wish I could just stop time and keep you like you are right now. However, if I did that, I'd miss out on what you are going to do next. I don't want to do that because whatever it is, I know it will be so much fun!!! Love you Layt!!!
