Jingle Bell Run/Walk 2009

Saturday was the Arthritis Foundation's annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk. Hannah has been truly blessed this year. Her arthritis is in remission! We are so thankful! However, we know there are so many others out there, young and old, that are forced to have to cope with this disease every day. We want to do whatever we can to help find a cure for this disease! That's why we have done this race the last 3 years and have asked our friends and family to join us.

This year we changed our team name. No more "Little Hannah Who & the Grinch." We figured this might get old after awhile and we didn't know how much longer Lincoln would let us paint his face green! Ha! This year our team was called "Hannah's Helpers." Lincoln got to be a elf! We got his costume at Oriental Trading and it was huge on him. Therefore, he will probably get to wear it for the next several years! Lucky him, huh?

Aren't they adorable, though? I love this pictures. I was a little camera happy since I was using our new camera. It takes pictures so fast I was able to get some great shots!

My favorite of Hannah!

My favorite of Lincoln.

While we were waiting for everyone to get there and the race to start, Santa came over to say Hi to the kids. Lincoln wasn't too interested in having any more pictures taken. Hannah was trying to help him out.

Santa was trying to get him to look at him, but he refused.

Trying to get a picture with Uncle Jeff.

Kris and I couldn't believe that they both sat in Santa's lap.

Santa tried to get them to tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

Daddy insisted that Lincoln give Santa one of his jingle bell bracelets. Linc wasn't very happy about this and even remembered after we got home that he had given one away.

Pappaw and Uncle Jeff with the kids. Mimi wasn't feeling very well that morning so she stayed home.

Sweet little Eden.

Hannah & Eden

Linc, Hannah, and Kenzie.

Hannah K and Hannah B. That's what they are called in Bible Class I think.

Hannah and Maylee. Maylee also has arthritis, but is doing great! We met her and her family at last year's race. It has been such a blessing to be able to talk to Maylee's mom, Wendy.

Wow! We had such a great turn out this year--again! Thank you all so much for showing your support to our family--especially coming out in the freezing cold weather! We actually were awarded the prize for the largest team for the 3rd year. We are very proud of this! We raised about $2,300 plus a sizable donation from James H Cone Inc. According to the website, we had 63 registered team members. We had at least 46 people actually show up. Awesome.

Some close-ups of the team.

Matthew, Jimmy, and Kris

I wanted to get a picture of each family, but things got crazy as the race started. I was able to get some though.
The Vicks

The Rainbolts

Stacey and Kenzie

The Burtons

The Bittles

The Blands (Thanks for coming all the way from Memphis guys!)

The Hawkins

The Bashams

Angie and Abigail. Trey was getting ready to run.

Sweet little Lily.
The starting line.
And they're off... (btw I am going to try to run this thing next year myself!)

Katie and Courtney

Jason, Nathan, and Joe

Jennifer, Lindy, Crystal, & Julie

Kris pulled the kids in the sleigh the whole way--and we weren't dead last this year. Kenzie was such a trooper. She walked the entire 5K next to Hannah!

Wendy, her mom with Maylee, and Brett

By this point, Linc was getting tired not to mention cold. Once he said, "It's takin ever." (It's taking forever.) This is one of his new favorite phrases.

This precious little girl is why we do this each year! Thanks again for everyone's support!
