December Miscellaneous

Lots and lots of fun was had in December.  Check it out.

Layton and I did lots of shopping together.  One day we went to Bass Pro.  He found this baby and I knew he had to have one.  I hinted to Uncle Wes and Uncle Jeff and they got it for him for Christmas.  This guy loves big trucks!

He wants one of these really bad though.

Hannah went to a couple of different parties at the beginning of the month.  She went to the movies with Madden for her birthday.

Then, she went to a Christmas party over at her friend, Madison's house.

I is for ice cream.  We made homemade ice cream at school.  Yum!

So, I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it would be a cute idea for a Christmas card.  I couldn't get it to look exactly like I wanted so I didn't end up using it.  There will be another stocking on our mantle next year!!!  Yikes!!

Our Life Group had our 2nd annual "Elf" movie watching night early this month.  That movie is hilarious!

Hannah asked for a triple doll bunk bed for Christmas.  Mimi had given her some colorful fabric and she made these 3 sheets and pillows one day.  She hand stitched them.  They turned out so cute.

Layton has taken a bit more recently to Dash which has made me happy!

Tim Sitler called us up to see if we wanted to go to Big Rock Mini Golf and Fun Park one afternoon for a photo shoot.  The kids were so excited because they got to ride go-carts, do the water bumper boats, play putt-putt golf, and play video games.

Kris had his work Christmas party in Searcy this year since his company is being merged with another one based in Searcy.  The Cone Group is now Hart Cone Construction.  Before the party we killed a few minutes at Harding looking at the lights.  The campus was beautiful.

We tried to take a selfie, but of course we get so tickled at ourselves none of them come out very well!  Ha!

The Christmas party was at an airport hanger.  They played a funny game where they rolled big inflated dice and the players had to ride their horses forward.  The first one to the end won the round.  Then, they had one last round with all the winners for a grand prize of $300.

We have been playing lots of Wahoo lately!  Such a great counting game for Layton especially.

My preschool Christmas Program was on the 18th.  It was a TON of work, but it finally came together.  It was entitled "The Lone Manger" and was all about Jesus.  The kids dressed up in cowboy/Western attire and the stage was decorated that way too.  The music was super cute and the kids did great.  There were some really cute moments.  I was so glad when it was over though.  I was pretty nervous about how it would go!

Close up of the barn prop I made for the program.

After the program Layton's class had their Christmas party.

Layton and his friend, Philip.

The kids made special calendars for us.  Such a sweet keepsake!

Layton loves Mrs. Tata.  She is a great teacher!

Lincoln has a great teacher as well.  This was the day of his class Christmas party.  His teacher served them Chick-fil-a and then asked all the kids to bring toys and things for the kids who are at Children's Hospital during the holidays.  Love this idea and love that she thought to do this!

Hannah and her friend Ava at her Christmas party.  They could wear their pajamas that day and had lots of snacks.

I told the kids one day that we were going to Elf ourselves.  Layton could hardly wait to do it and bugged and bugged me until we actually sat down and did it.  I love how they turned out and I am hoping to break them out next year at Christmas. They looked super cute on the back of the front door!

Carol taught Hannah how to crochet while we were at the Keims' over Christmas.  She came home and started knitting and before she knew it, she had made her doll, Grace, a hat.  Love it!
